And could someone please address my question on why did Shane Mack leave?

djskillz -> RE: Baseball Trivia (1/16/2009 1:20:03 PM)

No one has gotten the #4 on runs or AVG yet.

Runs:
#1 Killer
#2 Puck
#3 Carew
#4
#5 Oliva

AVG:
#1 Carew
#2 Puck
#3 Natural
#4
#5 (try this one too)
#6 Knobs
#7 Oliva

Can you guys fill in the blanks?

Name the Top 5.

Killebrew is #1 by a mile.

I am very surprised by #4 leading #5.  Similar players, though it seems like #5 had so much better batting averages than #4, that his OPS would be higher, considering similar power.

I'm going to guess:

#1 Killer
#2 Mauer
#3 Morneau
#4 Hrbek
#5 Puck

djskillz -> RE: Baseball Trivia (1/16/2009 1:32:09 PM)

And one last one.  Name the top EIGHT XBH leaders.  I say 8 because I was a little shocked by the fact that #7 is above #8.  Also shocking was how much #2 would have been the leader by if his Twins career wasn't cut short.  Like that doesn't give you a major hint.

Guest -> RE: Baseball Trivia (1/16/2009 1:52:26 PM)

Punto is number 7 on the list???????????

Name the top EIGHT XBH leaders

Oliva
Puckett
Killebrew
Hrbek
Allison
Carew

You've got 6 of them, Ed.  I was semi-shocked at the other two.  Rankings-wise, they are this:

1-Killer
2-Puck (again, I was kind of shocked just how much he probably would have dominated the list all-time if he hadn't been cut short.  He was probably 2 1/2 years away from being #1, with probably 7-8 years left on his career.
3-Hrbek
4-Oliva
5-Allison
6-
7-
8-Carew

Who are 6 and 7?

Mr. Ed -> RE: Baseball Trivia (1/16/2009 2:21:15 PM)

Smalley
Gaetti
Cordova

Gaetti's #6.

One more to go on that one.

Still no responses to AVG/R's leaders?

Average:

Frenchy
Smalley

Runs:

Tovar
Versailles
Pat Meares

XBH:

Butch Wyneagar
Bruno
Hisle
Bostock
Danny Ford

Matt Dahl -> RE: Baseball Trivia (1/16/2009 2:35:50 PM)

I'll say Frenchy for #7 in XBH.

I'm going to guess:

#4 Hrbek
#5 Puck

Correct answer:

1. Killer
2. Mauer
3. Mack
4. Hrbek
5. Morneau

Seeing you put Morneau ahead of Hrbek doesn't make me feel so bad now.

djskillz -> RE: Baseball Trivia (1/16/2009 2:39:05 PM)

Wrong all around, Ed and Matt.

#4 in average should be pretty easy, considering the discussion on the last page.
#5 is a bit more surprising I guess, but not a shocker for AVERAGE.

XBH I was a bit surprised with, the fact that this guy beat out #8.

Matt Dahl -> RE: Baseball Trivia (1/16/2009 2:40:15 PM)

XBH #7 Knoblauch?

Ahhh, missed Mack.  Stupid of me.  Hrbek and Morneau have to be really close though, right?  And what about Puck?  Was he #6?

Nope.  Though I was suprised he wasn't higher.  He never really hit HR's though.

Matt Dahl -> RE: Baseball Trivia (1/16/2009 2:40:57 PM)

#4 AVG Mack or Harper

Ed, just look at my above stupidity for average #4.  Mack.

I'll leave you guessing for now on #5.

#4 in runs is still a bit surprising too.  As is #7 in XBH.

Matt Dahl -> RE: Baseball Trivia (1/16/2009 2:42:18 PM)

XBH #7 Randy Bush???

Bingo.  Mack at #4, Harper at #5.

So:

Name #7 on XBH and #4 on runs.
