Matt Dahl -> RE: Baseball Trivia (10/21/2009 3:12:09 PM)

Who is the only player in Twins franchise history to become the father of twins?

Pete M. -> RE: Baseball Trivia (10/21/2009 4:03:37 PM)

Denny Hocking.

djskillz -> RE: Baseball Trivia (10/21/2009 4:05:34 PM)

Can we really call Hocking a "player?"

Team manager/water boy is more like it IMO.

His abilities were about on par with Nick Punto...actually a little better.  Which isn't saying much, I know.

He was actually more versatile than Punto!

djskillz -> RE: Baseball Trivia (10/21/2009 4:08:04 PM)

[&:][&:]

That could be an excellent new motto for [X(]:

[X(], not quite as versatile as Denny Hocking.

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: Baseball Trivia (10/21/2009 4:08:27 PM)

Yeah, but he was great at on-field celebrations .... um,, whoops, never mind.... couldn't even do that right ...

Trivia:

Mariano Rivera is first all time in postseason saves, unsurprisingly.

Who is number two?

Both wrong.

This one is surprising.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Baseball Trivia (10/22/2009 10:21:41 AM)

Bruce Sutter

Trekgeekscott -> RE: Baseball Trivia (10/22/2009 10:24:31 AM)

K Rod?

I thought about him too, but he didn't play in that many postseasons.

Dave E -> RE: Baseball Trivia (10/22/2009 10:28:22 AM)

Nope. Two more guesses.

Trekgeekscott -> RE: Baseball Trivia (10/22/2009 10:29:38 AM)

Dan Quisenberry?

Tom Henke?

Dave E -> RE: Baseball Trivia (10/22/2009 10:29:51 AM)

You ready for this?

Brad Lidge.

djskillz -> RE: Baseball Trivia (10/22/2009 10:31:34 AM)

wow.  shocking.

[:-]

Hmmm.  Combined with the Phillies and Astros postseason's he's played in...I guess I can see how that's possible.  He's just so inconsistant year to year.

Agreed. Shocked me. Here's the list:

Saves Rank Player SV IP
1. Mariano Rivera 36 125.1
2. Brad Lidge 16 38.1
3. Dennis Eckersley 15 36.0
4. Jason Isringhausen 11 26.2
Robb Nen 11 20.0
6. Mark Wohlers 10 38.1
7. Rollie Fingers 9 57.1
8. Rich Gossage 8 31.1
Randy Myers 8 30.2
10. Jonathan Papelbon 7 27.0
John Wetteland 7 18.2
Troy Percival 7 9.2

djskillz -> RE: Baseball Trivia (10/22/2009 10:41:38 AM)

Robb Nen.  Blast from the past.  Man, that guy was so dominant.

I was! But I didn't say it was meant to be a serious guess.

twinsfan -> RE: Baseball Trivia (1/7/2010 11:19:34 AM)

Andre Dawson had over 400 HRs and 2,000 hits and was elected to the HOF yesterday.

That means there are only 2 players (on the ballot or no longer on the ballot) that have reached both those milestones and are NOT in the HOF. Name them.

McGriff has to be the one on the ballot currently.
