The Twins closer, Capps, blew a save and as a result, Nathan was put back in that role. I was thinking that sometimes good things can happen as a result of a setback- a lesson learned, or a change that is made as a result. Let's hope that this is what has happened to our favorite WNBA team.

Another loss at home. Disappointing. That happens a lot here. We have high expectations for our teams and then they let us down.

Totally agree here.
Not going to try and snow anyone that I know a thing about this Lynx team, other than it seems to be our best hope for a "winner" in this town of losers.
Then why do I have this dreadful feeling they'll disappoint?
Prove me wrong, ladies.
SOMEONE Has to step up and start kicking ass again. If it takes the women to get loserville going, so be it.

If the Lynx were to win the 2011 WNBA championship, how many Minnesotans do you think would actually give a rat's patootie? 20? 30?

More than you think, I believe, especially with Lindsey Whalen and Maya Moore on the team. Everyone will pay attention in the playoffs. We are all starving for a win in the playoffs by one of our local teams here.

I strongly doubt a WNBA Championship for the Lynx would do much to lift the spirits of the Minnesota sporting public.

Poor thebigo, you obviously won't care wether they do or not so you don't have to worry about what the rest of Minnesota sporting public would think

There are plenty of us who do care (I can actually count more the 40 who do ) and we'll just keep enjoying watching a Minnesota basketball team that actually plays some defense & wins games. So far, so good.

Lynx go into Phoenix and get the win to move into 1st place (and take over sole possession of the best record in the WNBA).

3 straight wins, and 5 of their last 6.

One of the keys was that the Lynx had 12 steals. Four of them were by Maya Moore! She didn't have a great shooting game, but she found another way to help the team. I think that that is what great players will do.

I'm really happy for Simone Augustus in particular. After consecutive years of first having her knee reconstructed and then dealing with uterine cancer she is re-establishing herself among the leagues best players. At the same time she is not hogging possesions and padding her own stats at everyone else's expense. The Lynx are really a well balanced attack right now and there is no shortage of players willing to sacrafice stats and come off the bench and play defense.

Correction, she didn't deal with uterine cancer, thank goodness. Uterine fibroids (non-cancerous tumors) are becoming increasingly common for women to deal with. So no cancer to deal with and she has a clean bill of health. But yes, she is looking to be back to her pre-injury form, which is as one of the most efficient perimeter shooters in all of women's basketball.

Moore (voted in) & Brunson(injury replacement) will start for the West.

True Montgomery was #4 pick in '09 but she got traded in the Whalen deal.

Eight top 4 picks? Is that right? They better be good. (But then again, don't the Wolves have quite a few, too? Look at them!)

You have to factor in perspective. There is a big difference between a 12 team league and a 30 team league. In the WNBA, the champions pick 12th - that's 1 pick outside the lottery in the NBA.

So the 4th pick in the WNBA is kind of like the 10th pick in the NBA...

By that perspective, David, the Wolves should be better than the Lynx!

Well, I think it would be close, but the Wolves would probably beat the Lynx in a game....
