Not struggling any more. I am wondering if it just might be possible that Maya Moore will be our best player this season. She is coming on offensively, can get her shot whenever she wants it and shooting a nice percent. How would you say her defense compares to Augustus?

Maya needs to not be so reliant on the jumper if she wants to supplant Seimone. she has the ability but she settles way too much.

True but this is only Maya's second season. She can be scary good. Seimone just blows my mind with her efficient offense beautiful way she can get open and soft sweet shooting touch. Maya has more raw athleticism. We have two players on this team that might just be the best in the league. I hate to bring this up but remember how I told you all that Last year will be Whalen's best. I see her game as deferring to Maya and Seimone now.

Just my 2 cents : Maya can’t create a shot for herself as well as Seimone can largely due to the fact Maya is not anywhere near as good of a ball handler. Seimone thru her career has consistently been one of the most efficient scorers the league has ever had. Kind of crazy. Maya’s not there …. yet. Both healthy, Seimone is a better defender then Maya. BUT, as Seimone did, I expect Maya to continue to get better. Scary. They are both special, just as you would hope for out of a #1 overall picks. That said, this Lynx team is just ridiculously talented and any given night someone may play up to the "best player" role. I mean the other night, Taj at 41, made all the 30 somethings on the Seattle Storm look like 50 yr olds lol. This team is so deep it can handle being a player or 2 down better than any of the other teams.

Agreed that Seimone can get her own shot simply by being so slick or slippery. Maya can get her own shot with her athletic ability and overpowering her defender. Very different players.

Agreed. I love Maya and she's already a fantastic player, but she's going to have nights where her shot isn't falling and she's going to struggle to score. I think there is a very good chance Maya will be this team's best player in 2-3 years, but Seimone isn't ready to pass that torch just yet.

I don't see her deferring so much as meshing her game to meet the needs of the team. The Lynx have scorers at every position on the floor. Lindsey doesn't have to do it all like in her Gopher and early WNBA days. She attacks when she has the match up and she facilitates when others have the match up. I don't see her deferring at all. She is as aggressive as ever.

Exactly. With Whalen it isn't about how much she scores. That she's a threat to score is more important than how many points she has. What makes or breaks how good her season is how she controls a game. How she sets the pace, controls the tempo, gets players like Moore and Seimone the ball in the best opportunities for them to do what they do, etc.

She could have an entire season of game's last last night (8 points on 3 shots, 10 assists) and it would be a GREAT season.

Watched the game on my iPad last night and audio was a little behind video and made it hard to enjoy, but what was worse was the Tulsa announcer. He sounded as if he was calling a HS game. He had a very hard time identifying the Lynx players as they scored.

Last night the audio was all was messed up. I watched part of it with no audio and then kind of gave up and just kept checking the boxscore.

Jim total agreement. It was annoying with the lag of video to voice. It was annoying how he didn't recognize the Lynx players.

10 assists is very good as you almost never see double digit assists in a WNBA game. Lyndsay is still a very good player. Last year she was probably our best player most of the season. IMO she had a legit claim to MVP. Not that she should have won it but she was a contender. This year though she may be only our fourth best player behind Seimone, Maya, and Rebekka. We have a kick ass team .

It seems to me that Whalen is the one who steps up at crunch time.

Whalen it seems to me makes FTs in crunch time as she is a good FT shooter and the PG. I think she did come up big a couple times late but seems to me Augustus and Taj came up pretty big in crunch time as well. We have a great team. Can they go undefeated?

Tonight the Lynx go for the record of most consecutive wins to start the season. They should get it as Phoenix is missing both Taurasi and Taylor. We might be missing Seimone. Once again I have to reiterate the team that gives me some concern is the sparks.

Hope the LiveAccess feed is good for thie one cuz there's a viewing party at Champps -Ridgedale/MTKA @9 .

Nice write up on the dot com (haa a little backup for KFAN's Bumper to Bumper' shows 'Run for 41' )

As for everyone outside of the Lynx locker room, Friday’s game between Minnesota and Phoenix is not just part of the five-game slate of games that tips off the weekend.

Simply put, this game is historic.

In the first decade and a half of WNBA basketball, no team has opened a season with 10 straight wins. And in a season that consists of just 34 games, the Lynx would be nearly a third of the way to a perfect season.

Your Sparks need to stage a pretty big comeback, because they're getting massacred by the 3-5 dream right now.
