The undefeated season wasn't going to happen. You'll just never see one in a Pro sport with so many games.

Its happened once in Football - during a 14 game season. It'll never happen in basketball, baseball or hockey.

Honestly, we didn't deserve to steal that game.

1 quarter of good play just can't make up for 3 quarters of indifference.

Sometimes it can. I have seen it on many occasions. I am depressed the undefeated season is lost.

You couldn't have missed my point by more if you tried. OBVIOUSLY it can happen.

The point is, they were out hustled, outworked and outclassed for 3 quarters. Tried to “turn it on” in the 4th, but it was too little too late.

I got your point 100%. You think the Storm deserved the win more because of the first three quarters. I don't give a rats ass if they were outworked, outhustled, and outclassed for the first three quarters. I wanted the Lynx to win and I am bummed out that they lost.

It didn't happen for my Lynx and of course it was highly unlikely. Still I can hope and dream. What a bitter pill to lose like this when we had a great shot to pull out a great win in the final seconds. Seimone had a great look at a short baseline jumper. One of the easier shots in basketball.

And Strike 2. You still swing wide of my point.

I don't think any team deserves a win. But the Lynx flat out beat themselves by playing like the game didn't matter for 3 quarters and then trying to win it by finally giving a damn in the 4th.

Its not that I think they deserved to lose, but I hate the way they played for 3 quarters, and honestly this loss might be better for the team than if they pulled off an unlikely win. I bet they don't come out flat against 3 win NY on Thursday.

I'll simplify it even more.

The Lynx came out like all they had to do was show up to win and were completely unprepared for the energy level and hustle of Seattle. You can't do that, or you end up losing to bad teams.

Maybe they bought into the hype a little more than Reeves wanted them to, maybe they needed to be humbled a little bit. Hopefully this will be a "good loss" that they can learn from.

Still shouldn't take that shot with 9 secs left. They still might have had a layup

It was far too soon to take that shot. Especially because it wasn't a "short baseline jumper". I rewound the play 3 times, it was a barely a couple steps inside the arc. And Seimone's shot had been off the whole game.

But even if she makes it, that still gives Seattle far too much time to set up for a good shot, needing only a 2 to win.

Also, we really should've had a better play run for the final shot. I know we only had 1 second, but a Maya Moore 3 from 5+ feet behind the arc can;t be a very high percent look.

A loss is a loss IMO never good. All a loss does is teach you how to lose. I wanted the undefeated season . Still 10-1 is a pretty good record so far but it is only about what I was expecting at this point of the season. Would have been so fun to just keep bumping up that win streak and to lose it to I think a 2-7 team was painful. Anyway onward and upward. One loss season with undefeated playoff run to second consecutive title.

I am getting tired of the strike thing. I am stating my opinion and I believe that from the very first post I got David's opinion whether I specifically worded it in a way that David Levine liked or not I think I got it. I am stating that I would have enjoyed us winning that last game more than us losing it. I would enjoy an undefeated season more than a season where we lose some games. I think we really had a chance to make this season opening winning streak long enough that it would have been very very hard for it to ever be beaten. I am greedy for this Lynx team to be remembered as the greatest team in WNBA history. Excuse me for wanting stratospheric greatness out of this team. I think they are capable of that kind of greatness. That said as long as they win the title I will consider the season reasonably successful.

And I don't disagree with any of that.

Don't blame me because you sort of looked at what I said and ran off on a tangent that had little to do with what I said.

I'm thrilled with their current record. Teams simply don't mantain that level of excellence forever.

Knock on wood they've been fortunate to stay relatively healthy so far, this season. That doesn't hurt. (no pun intended!)

Well up until now Jess Adair has been having discomfort in the knee she had surgery on at the end of last season.

"Jessica Adair, a 6-4 backup center for the Lynx, will have arthroscopic surgery on her right knee on Friday. The knee has been bothering her most of this season."

Lynx started slow but came on strong. Good to see the offense back. If Taj calls it a career after this year, Peters will fill in very well.

Got to go to the game last night and during the first quarter and the start of the second, the Lynx looked hopelessly over-matched. However, a big part of that appeared to be good ball movement by the Liberty to the open players who were making outside shots. Starting partway through the second and continuing the rest of the game, it seemed like the Liberty were unable to consistently hit outside and the Lynx defense stiffened in the paint. All at once, seemingly, the Lynx began to throttle the Liberty; save for the buzzer-beating 3 at the half, the quarter results for the Liberty would have been bleak. Which is to say it would have seemed much like both the 3rd and 4th quarters.

Great fun to watch the Lynx play; saw some amazing offensive plays by Maya, Seimone, and Peters that were worth the price of admission. Only our second game of the season, but hope to see more.

Its hard to say because she's only getting 12 minutes per game right now. Yesterday was a great game for her, but she's being brought along slowly because she has Taj and Brunson in front of her.

She's 5th in points, 1st in FG%, 11th in FT%.

7th in RPG, but 5th in RB/40

4th in BLKs, but 2nd in BLK/40

Using WNBA's "Efficiency" stat, she's 2nd to Ogwumike per 40/
