Maya Moore going OFF in the first half. 28 points with four minutes to go. Anybody know the WNBA single game scoring record? I'm going to look it up. Anyway three games in and Maya averaging 33.5 per game and likely to be more than that by the time this game is done. So far Lynx only up 53-42.

OK I just found the scoring record. By a player I have never heard of Riquna Williams of the shock. She is in this game so it would be fun to have Maya take her record while playing against her.

Maya quit shooting. I think she was getting embarrassed about taking all the shots. Looks like she will still be at 22 at halftime.

And this is the natural progression we need to see. Maya bent over backwards in the beginning to blend her game in with the vets and learn the league. Over the next 2 years she assumed a bigger role. Now is her time. It's time for her to assert her dominance. She is the one who can take her game to a level, Simone, Brunson and Whalen can't reach.

Absolute agreement. Simone, Brunson, and Whalen are all wonderful players but Maya has as much or more skill than them plus much greater physical ability IMO. Will Maya ever be the type of player that is willing to be that superstar that just keeps on shooting? It honestly seemed like she got a little embarrassed about what she was doing. The game is far from wrapped up. If she doesn't get 10 points minimum in the second half to me that will be a bad sign.

Funny stat from this game. Shock bench outscoring Lynx bench 29-4 but Lynx lead by 14. Maya at 29 points now. They changed one of her threes to a two.

Down three with 1:42 remaining. Blew a 14 point lead to arguably the worst team in the WNBA.

Maya makes two FTs with 11 Seconds to go Lynx lead. Now to play some D. Exciting finish. I wish it wasn't quite this exciting.

Wow that is an interesting stat. I was hoping for the league single game scoring record but this will do.

Maya with "only" 14 in the 1st quarter.

But ended the quarter knocking heads with Seimone...

Looking like a very good chance at four consecutive 30 point games for Maya. This is beyond unprecedented.

I think unprecedented works. I'm not sure breaking the record by 1 game is "beyond unprecedented"...

I think unprecedented works. I'm not sure breaking the record by 1 game is "beyond unprecedented"...

DL until last night 2 in a row was the record. Maya didn't tie the record at three did she? She set the record at three IIRC. So three games in a row was unprecedented. Four games in a row would be beyond what was unprecedented before last night. I hope that helps you with why I chose the strong statement of beyond unprecedented.

Not true.

Moore tied the league record with three consecutive games of at least 30 points, joining Cynthia Cooper (1997), Epiphanny Prince (2012) and Angel McCoughtry (2013). She is the first to have two double-doubles in such a stretch, with Friday's performance adding to her 33-point, 12-rebound game Sunday against Connecticut.

Lynx with 0 bench points in the 1st half. In the 1st 3 games of the season they've gotten just 22, lowest total in the WNBA.

I was basing my comment on the statement above about her setting the record. I wasn't sure if the two double doubles was a required part of the record of not. Now that I know that the Two double Doubles were a requirement of that record I will go with her having 30 tonight with a double double as beyond unprecedented. I was editing my post regarding that possibility before I read your denial of my statement.

Edit: As of now this whole thing is looking like a moot point as Maya has fallen off a 30 point pace. Also it looks like a double double with rebounds is out of the question.

So far we are 3-0 missing the three players and we have a decent chance of going 4-0 but that stat shows how we really miss having the missing players.

LOL now the Lynx have 8 points off the bench and Maya is on pace for 30.

Tina Charles sure is a force out there. It definitely worked out for the Wolves trading The #1 overall pick that was Charles for Whalen, but it sure was a big price.
