Damn. Saw some first-half highlights, looked like all was well.
Oh well, so we go thru the year with one loss. That's ok.

So inconsistent these last few games. Score 30 in the first, 12 in the second. We should be up more than 5.

Lead cut to 3 late, but then we took over the last couple minutes. 8-2 run.

9 point lead with 30 seconds left.

The Sparks were down by as few three points at several points during the fourth quarter. Once, it was a 73-70 game after a Kristi Toliver three with 5:38 left. Then it was 75-72 after Nneka Ogwumike made two free throws with 4:33 left. But from then on, Lynx guard Lindsay Whalen scored six straight points, and Minny never looked back from there.

What was a bit surprising at best, or concerning at worst, is that the Sparks failed to score another point for the rest of the game. They didn't even have a free throw attempt.

Expected them to lay down a whooping today after dropping their first.
Guess not.

Terrible shooting day for Maya and we still beat a tough Sparks team by 13. Dantas appears to be the real deal. Wright and Brunson will be coming back. Go Lynx.

She's playing far too many minutes and getting worn down. She played all 40 again last night (3rd time she's been over 40 in 9 games).

We need Wright back ASAP.

WOW DL. All 40 and that often. Haven't seen such a minutes ironman/woman since Wilt Chamberlain.

Her season numbers are still terrific: 24 PPG (48/40/85), 9 Rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 1 block.

But she's 1/13 from 3 over the past 3 games (0/4 each of the last 2), and you can see her shot isn't as smooth as normal.

Yes Maya shouldn't have to be playing 40 mins but such is the life w/a very competitve coach (and team)
We do need Monnie back ASAP. Sounds like she is VERY close to getting some controled mins, she's about 7 wks out on the 6-8 wk recovery but still can't rush her back either. Nice to be 8-1 at this stage.
It's good that Dev Peters is back in the mix a bit while she shakes off the rust. It helps with the post mins as Dantas & Jmac have done big time work.

But for now its off to meet the POTUS in DC. Then of to ATL for game on Friday which is on one of the Fox(s) most likely the FSN(+) 6:30pm ct tip.

Video media from Tue practice:

A question came up to 'Mone re that being the 4th different practice facility the defending champs have had to practice in … just another one of the likely many distractions/obstacles the defending champs have to deal with that will largely goes un-noticed. Crazy, another example of the price these women pay to be pioneers of sports in this country.

Awful start to the game resulting in a 20 point deficit at the break.

Somehow we're now down by 4 with almost 4 minutes to go.

Go Lynx.

Maya has been brutal. 8 points on 2/11 - including 2/9 from 3.

At least its been nice to see Liston get some run. 5 points, 4 rebounds in 8 minutes so far.

Loss.

I was busy today and missed it. You get thinking the Lynx are superhuman but they have games like this to show they still are human.

Lynx against the Mercury today in a Noon Central time clash. This is a tough test and will either reestablish the Lynx as the best team in the league or push us back into just another contender status. Let's take it to them. We should win this one with HCA. Go Lynx.

We are getting crushed at home 44-26. Not sure what is going on but the early season looked better than it really was due to winning some close games. It would be a wonderful comeback story if we can get it.
