And I did watch about 5 games and they got much better as the year went on. They are young so we'll see. At some point though they need some legit blue chippers that aren't 17 YO's with potential.

Through Designated money at Ibra and see if he bites. I doubt it because it's the MN stigma I mentioned but THEN I would, at least, know they were for real.

Yeah, the Columbian they bid on is another 20 year old. Talented as hell they say, but 20 none the less.

How far will the walk be from the Green Line stop to the new soccer stadium?

The Turf Club will reap the benefits of the new stadium. I'm happy for them.

The new Brazilian kid is something to get a bit excited about (although it's a loan). His parent club has a pretty decent history. They aren't minnows.

According to the story, Minnesota has the option to buy his rights at the end of the year.

It looks like Murf messed up his sweep attempt because he did not post on the soccer threads! Rookie mistake by a veteran.

Why do they list the visiting team 2nd on the soccer scoreboard? NO OTHER SPORT DOES THAT! Just gotta be different and hipster, I guess. Lame.

Kevin Molino out for the season with a torn ACL. That's a tough loss for Minnesota. Adrian Heath and Manny Lagos are heading to Latin America to scout 30 year old Colombian Darwin Quintero as a possible replacement. He apparently would be their highest profile signing.

Alright, it looks like the Loons have made the high profile, spend a lot of money, type acquisition Jeff has been talking about. 30 year old striker Darwin Quintero from Columbia is set to arrive in the Twin Cities tonight and sign a contract.

Ok, gonna put the most positive spin on this as possible because i've never even heard of him (but then again, I don't follow the Mexican league).

He's the right age for this type of move. He should have years left in his legs. He's gotta be quick as hell given his small stature and success. He gives MN no heading presence at 5'5" and no hold up ability at 140 lbs.

Playing at that size in Mexico does mean he's gotta have some toughness to him. I'll be curious to watch him. He may be a diver given his background.

I don't know anything about him other than the pundits are saying that this is by far the Loons highest profile signing. I also checked into his stats. Looks like the strib article got the position wrong. He is a midfielder, not a striker.

It's by far their biggest signing. He's the first DP they've brought in. If he's a Mid he'd better be an attacking Mid. A holding, at that size, would be comical.

And, if he's not an all out striker (which would also make sense given his frame) he's gonna sit right off the back of one. Essentially and extra attacker ala Messi/Neymar type player.

The things I have read about him indicate that he is an offensive minded player. It looks like his goal production has dropped in the last couple of years.

United is now working on a loan agreement for 25 year old Peruvian wing Alexi Gomez.

I was guessing, because I had never even heard of him, but the new guy is a hybrid #10 and will play right below the striker(s) as an attacking mid.

Coach Adrian Heath sees Quintero playing as a No. 10, the playmaking central attacking midfielder, and said his best position is to be around or underneath the striker.

If he's fast/quick enough they can probably even slide him out to the left and let him cut inside when it's appropriate.

Looks like Quintero will essentially fill Molino's role if that's the case. If they add Gomez, hopefully he can add some scoring punch up front.
