This is exactly what I would do. I don't like keeping 3 QBs, but that's gonna happen. I think Collins goes on the PUP. I think less of Ham in comparison to the new guy just because he's so much harder to defend. But I expect they'll keep both.

Isadora traded for 7th round pick.

Nice.

Not that nice. A 7th round pick for a player we drafted with a 4th. Sure seems to help with keeping Samia and Udoh though.

Yeah but will be an EARLY 7th rounder, which is almost a 6th rounder.

It was for a player we were going to cut...it’s a free 7th rounder.....

Almost 6th rounder.

Pretty Bad Ass that we got a pick that will be packaged with another 7th,
giving us a third 6th Rd pick after we trade down in the 4th for a second 6 round pick,

Bring him in now. Bye Bye Beebe. Not really Beebe. I just like the sound of that.

Panthers released WR Aldrick Robinson.

The 30-year-old deep threat caught 17 balls in 14 games for the Vikings last season. "Lord Aldrick" should have enough juice left in his legs to get another look elsewhere.

Isadora was a 5th round pick.

Thanks for the correction. I thought that might be the case. I was 51/49 on 4th 5th so went with 4th.

They could draft the next Dillon Mitchell with the 7th!

I don't back off my belief in Dillon Mitchell's talent. He's got the talent to be a successful NFL WR.

In other words, I was never going to admit being wrong about Mitchell anyway – regardless of what happens.

I watched his tape!

I already admit to being wrong about him being our #3. However that could be the Vikings screwing up. If he's released and doesn't catch on anywhere I will at that point say I was wrong about the talent. Is that satisfactory.

I think that Bisi made enough noise to make the 53 man squad. Beebe, on the other hand, hasn’t stepped up to the challenge.

This was mentioned that he was on the list of cuts, but more information about Badet's status:

Jeff Badet missed 3rd preseason game with a groin strain. He did warm up before last night's game and was hopeful of playing but then he suffered a finger injury in warmups and didn't play. The injury not considered serious. #Vikings still like Badet & he could be back with them.

At this hour there are perhaps a few more players added to the list since this afternoon, but none stand out to me. Looking around the league it's the same. The notable cuts will apparently come tomorrow. I imagine the lights are on at Twin Cities Orthopedic Sports Performance Center. (Did I get that name right? I preferred the name Winter Park.)

Edit: I just found this one. Apparently Cliett still has practice squad eligibility, so he is one I would keep around.

Vikings are waiving LB Reshard Cliett per source. Sounds like they’re going with 5th round rookie Cameron Smith for one of those final spots. Curious to see if they keep 5 or 6 total beyond Barr, Kendricks, Gedeon and Wilson.

(Courtney Cronin on Twitter)

Here's another comment from Daniel House on Twitter:

Man, I really liked what I saw from Cliett both at linebacker and on special teams. It's a numbers game and they likely want to develop Devante Downs. #Vikings

I'm a little worried the Vikings will trade Mike Boone. (Paul Charchian on Twitter) Apparently the Texans are looking to add a running back.

Just for the record I like Abdullah better because he seems to have more juice on special teams. That's me, but I see everywhere the love for Boone so I am kind of expecting he gets the nod. Getting draft picks would be nice, but I do think a priority should be on rostering the best players. (because I am "all in" for this season)

The Texans are looking to add a RB, but it was my impression they wanted a more proven back who could be the early down guy and let Duke be the receiving back. Somebody like Adrian Peterson would be perfect and I can see Washington going all in on Guice and sending Peterson out.

Yeah. I'm in the camp of thinking why bother. The guy can't stay healthy. I would rather carry the extra FB at the expense of the receiver group. I want to see the Vikings get more physical using fullbacks and tight ends more this season. All the defenses are being set up to defend these multiple receiver sets, but may not measure up to the wear and tear of Mattison running and fullbacks blocking in space.

Also, this might mean nothing, but I don't like that he got really fat. Mr. Hard Nose, Old School, Mr. Discipline, got fat.
It's difficult, but not impossible, to sell discipline when you demonstrate none.

I think of Andy Ried, Mike McCarthy's later Packer years, Denny Green. Has any fat HC won a Super Bowl ?

Hank Stram, John Madden.

This discussion is silly.

Risk blindness in one eye, says the Vikings winning a Super Bowl is more important to him than the vision in that eye.

But he's got no self discipline.

BTW I hadn't noticed that he got fat. Guess I haven't seen him in his speedo.

You seriously haven't noticed the weight gain?

As far as the speedo, that's interesting that you mention that.

Risking blindness in one eye was a great story. Pretty sure he had top-notch medical care.
Rather doubtful that he was actually going to lose his vision because of football.
I guess Vrabel is still tougher, because he said he would cut off his genitals to win a Super Bowl.

You're late to the party. He has lost weight.

I don't know about that. He looks like he swallowed a small human.

Admittedly, I'm going by the eye test. What are you going by?

Isadora traded for 7th round pick.

When we started the off season, we didn't have enough FA money or draft picks combined to raise history's worst OL to 'adequate'.

Now our cup spilleth over onto other rosters.

Nice job Spielman.

(well ... that is, before suiting up for an actual game)

I think it also speaks to Miami's incompetence. Isadora couldn't crack the starting line up with 29th rated oline I think I'd shop elsewhere.

I believe he went to school down there so there may be some sentimental motivation too, but I noticed the at Miami traded for a second offensive lineman as well, so their offensive line must have been besieged by injuries and/ or futility.

I think I read they made a trade with Indy. Which makes much more sense getting a backup from a team with a very good oline.
