Vikings never once answered the bell in a big game. Most of the time in big games they not only lost, they were embarrassed.

As an owner that is concerning.

Vikings win the division next year or it is a disaster and Speilman and Zimm are fired before the final week. I don’t see any middle ground.

You mean as an owner it should be concerning. I guess we will get to see it for another year. It's going to be tough to get up for next season no matter how many great moves we make on paper.

Agreed, this year I expected greatness. Next year I expect nothing. Zimmer looked awful this year, nothing he did worked in big games. He needs to prove himself worthy of being a head coach.

Thought they answered the bell @Philly, @GB (not so impressive hindsight), @LA (offensively at least). You're right tho, felt we weren't a contender after getting beat up by the Bears coming off the bye. That game was very telling.

I felt we would be 10-6 or 9-7. Didn't like the schedule and knew the OLine turnover plus the loss of Sparano and Shurmur would really hurt. Not to mention teams were gunning for us, the Rams and Bears especially put in the work to embarrass Zimmer's D. That and Belicheck knows how to attack a Zimmer defense from his Cincy days. Kirk did well though all things considered. We rebounded nicely in 2015 and 2017, give Zim another shot. Other than that we won the games we should, lost at Seattle, only the Bills game was a real surprise.

More from my talk with #Vikings Laquon Treadwell: “I know I’m a No. 1 receiver (on an NFL team). I just know that I’m playing behind two great receivers (on the Vikings in Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs).’’

Chris Tomasson@christomasson
I talked to #Vikings Laquon Treadwell, who is very confident. He believes he can be a 100-catch WR in the NFL but now he’s playing behind Diggs & Thielen. “Stefon had 100 catches and Adam had 100 catches. … When my time comes, and it’s time for me to get 100 catches, I’ll know."

Don't be so hard on him Dan. Have you seen the passing rules they are setting up in the new XFL?

As long as they target him 250-300 times, 100 catches is possible...

Zimmer is staying. Spielman is staying.

Soonest
- Figure out OC
- Hire new OL coach

Free Agency
- Sign FA G, LB, DT
- Release or do not sign for market value: Sendejo, Remmers, Compton, Barr, Richardson, Treadwell, Rudolph

Draft
- Trade down in the first (get a 2nd and 3rd)
- With two seconds take OG, TE
- OG/C, WR in third

The Green Bay Packers paid Aaron Rodgers $67 million from when he signed his new contract on Aug. 29 to today. That’s the equivalent of $540,323 PER DAY.

The announcers were saying Cousins plans his day in 10 minute increments on a spreadsheet. Is that true?

If so, there has to be a control-related element in him. Having things planned. Structure. So how does that jive with pass rushers all over him in three seconds? Does he mentally go bonkers? Or is he chaotic by nature and has to plan (seems less likely).

Edit: 15 minute increments in 2015 - https://www.nbcsports.com/washington/washington-redskins/redskins-kirk-cousins-goes-next-level-his-daily-planner

Seems to be for work mostly, then he got the routine down.

Definitely one guy that I can't wait to hit the road. The less stupid guys on the roster the better.

Be interesting to see what Bell gets on open market.

Raiders are likely dumb enough.

Pat Kirwan thinks there's already a deal with some team and has been for some time.

Don't quote me, but I heard that bell is interested in the colts.

Marlon Mack has been good for them plus Hines is solid as well, but Bell is next level comparatively. Bucs, Jets, Raiders, Eagles, Chiefs, Texans could all use an upgrade.

There's some yahoo making the rounds saying, and I quote, "heard that bell is interested in the colts"...

Also - just because I'm petty, who was the poster that asked me how I thought Philly fans were feeling this season back when they were out of the playoffs and we were in? Boy that didn't age well.

Cross posting because why not?...

I bolded the wins for next year. 12-4, home field advantage through the playoffs, and a Super Bowl Title. PROVIDED we do the following:

Draft OL, OL, TE, LB, in the first four picks. Sign a quality OL in FA. Cut Rudolph, Griffen, Sendejo, and Remmers.

Home Games:

Chicago Bears

Green Bay Packers

Detroit Lions

Philadelphia Eagles

Washington Redskins

Oakland Raiders

Denver Broncos

Atlanta Falcons

Away Games:

Chicago Bears

Green Bay Packers

Detroit Lions

New York Giants

Dallas Cowboys

Los Angeles Chargers

Kansas City Chiefs

Seattle Seahawks

I like your optimism David. I don't see it happening regardless of the moves we make but I sure hope you're correct and we do make all of those moves.

Yeah. I'm not even upset. I just will hope we turn it around next year. It's ok if I don't truly believe in this team. Doesn't mean I won't be pulling for us by the time the next season rolls around. Happy New Year everyone!

Happy New Year to my Viking brethren. I want this team to play violent and pissed off every game next year. Win or lose, leave it all on the field. Not sure we have the coach for it, one more year will tell the tale.

I think it's very unlikely that this team lets Rudolph go. They still think he's part of the solution.

We're back to the pitfalls of trying to catch up. The neglect of the OLine will most certainly be addressed, but I'm afraid that's going to leave a few other areas needing help, mainly TE and WR.
