Here's what was obvious. Amber Fiser just didn't have her usual command in the WS. The Washington game, she couldn't find the strike zone with anything but her fastball. When you get to that level, you're toast if your pitching is off because your hitters are also going to be facing All American caliber pitching. This isn't a knock on Fiser. She is the biggest reason the Gophers got to the series and I'm really glad she'll be back for 2020. It was just the worst possible time to be off.
I just wish they could have gotten a win or two for Maddie Houlihan. She was the heart and soul of Gopher softball for 4 years. It would have been nice to give to give her a better send off.
