Found this under studs and duds regarding Saint/Seahawk game

The same is true of backup guard Nick Easton, who was signed with the intention of competing with top draft pick Erik McCoy at center. Instead, Easton is the team’s seventh or eighth option on game days, and he was inactive a week ago. He was phased out of the competition to start at center and has taken a backseat to Will Clapp as a backup guard. The good news is that the Saints can get out of his contract next season with no dead money left over

Glad we missed out on Easton. He may have been a starter for us. Kline seems decent.

The Vikings are not an easy team to matchup with- even for the Bears. Expect a very physical game Sunday.

Well, for all my complaints on keeping Ham over Blasingame... he is consistently taking out at least 1 defender in the reel above.
(check out then 2nd or 3rd last highlight... he just LEVELS a CB... ouch)

Credit where credit is due.

I saw that New England put their FB on IR and I was crossing my fingers that they didn't pick up Blasingame. I haven't heard anything yet, which is probably good news.

New England had a fullback on their practice squad (Jakob Johnson) that they've promoted.

Vikings get the A-team from CBS for Sunday’s game against the Bears. Jim Nantz, Tony Romo and Tracy Wolfson on the call.

(Chad Graff on Twitter)

Big game on the national level.

Arrogant Packer fans already thinking the division is their's. Bear fans are a little uneasy as they have a brutal schedule as do we. Here's hoping Wentz actually plays up to his hype and they bring the puke back down to earth.

I'm surprised he didn't do well there. He was one of our better olineman in 2017.

I believe he had back issues and sometimes them never go away.

Good moves. As pointed out:

Treadwell plays special teams well. Would rather see Bisi get snaps at WR. No impact on the salary cap.

Sherels can PR and be emergency CB. Any contract is not guaranteed and I'm guessing minimal impact on cap.

Both know the the system well.

Final point Treadwell looked good as WR in preseason cuz Sloter made him look good

Their top WRs are out. I'm sure they'll be back by the time we play them though.

This is a little bit over my head, but you guys probably get it. Bottom line: another reason for bringing Treadwell back.

#Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell signed a prorated minimum deal of $720,000. Because he was due a guaranteed $1.15 million when he was cut and there is an offset in his contract, the money on Treadwell's second contract will come back to the Vikings as a cap credit for next year.

Irv Smith Jr, compared to other rookie TEs this year:

1st in PFF overall grade, 83.2 (next best 64.0)
1st in PFF receiving grade, 77.4 (63.4)
1st in PFF run block grade, 80.9 (79.2)
1st in yards per route run, 2.03 (1.81)

He’s the youngest player in the NFL this year.

(Krauser on Twitter)

I will admit that I was wrong about him before the draft. Right now it looks like he has a chance to be a bonafide star.

This is his rank compared to all TE's. The thing is that it's pretty unusual that a rookie tight end will shine. That's number one. Number two is that he is the youngest of all of the rookies.

7th in overall grade (20%+ snaps)
3rd in run blocking grade
10th in receiving grade (5+ targets)
11th in YPRR

Marcus Sherels says “it kind of feels like I never left”

WR Laquon Treadwell on hearing Monday the #Vikings wanted to bring him back: "I jumped for joy a little bit, I ain’t going to lie. I was kind of super geeked up.''

If Josh Kline can't play Sunday at Chicago, Dakota Dozier would get the start.

Anyone else impressed with Dakota Dozier against the Raiders? PPF had him as our 5th highest graded player that game

*Purple Reign News on Twitter)

We may need him with Kline not practicing. I'm confused about Elflein. Did he play last week? I don't see him on the injury report so he must be good to start at LG.

#Vikings' 2018 explosive play rate under John DeFilippo: 8.0%, ranked 31st among all NFL offenses

He has that elbow heavily taped up it looks like. He should be fine with his footwork and covering people, the question will be can his elbow hold up to the physicality of hitting and tackling.

So instead of signing Sherels, you want to have our #1 pick that is coming of a knee injury and also a great cover cb return punts? I don't know if I have this right or not? Also I didn't mention how much of a ball hawk for interceptions he is.....

I think you sign Sherels who can be a 5th or 6th emergency corner, cover punts, and return punts safely do it.

The record shows that returning kicks and punts are virtually no health risk. I think Hughes has all pro kick return ability. Sherels is good for that as well, but cost us a spot on the 53 just for returns. I'm also deferring on punt returns to the UCF season ticket holder.

Hughes returning kicks right now is a non starter. There is no way you expose him to that kind of risk right after he was finally cleared to play. Especially with the thin CB ranks.

Risk is almost zero, but if he isn't fully healthy I agree you wait until he is.

And "Shit, do they ever miss against us????"

3 games into the year, nobody should be “Arrogant” about much. Perhaps the Patriots only? (Cause I sure as hell know there fans are)

11 outta 12 quarters of dominance gets you 2-1.

Minus Cousins meltdown I’m not sure I’ve been more confident in a Vikings team since perhaps ‘09.

Defense is well rounded and deep with our CB’s coming back.

Wilson should start, or at the very least play a bigger role.

Monster DLine with Everson back to form.

Been quite a long time since I’ve seen our running backs actually take a hand off without a defender of two immediately in there face. OLine is improved, but still needs to build trust with us all. STARTING THIS SUNDAY AT CHI.

Dalvin Cook has been my favorite playmaker to watch the last couple years, but denied by injury. We can only hope he’s past that. Could be an MVP. He’s that good, and has been when healthy, but he is in a way better system.

Best WR tandem.

Quickly becoming damn near the best TE tandem.

And then to QB....... Put up or shut Kirk. Big moment, big game...Do it...or just don’t freakin lose it.
