In the make-do draft, Vikings go OL-CB in the 1st, WR in the 2nd. Spielman sets record for most trades in 3rd.

Will have to make-do at DT.

It's a one-year, $1 million deal of which $675,000 is guaranteed, including a $175K signing bonus. Max $1.5M with incentive. Solid deal for Tajae Sharpe in a tough WR marketplace and low-risk addition for the #Vikings. https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1242835418963468296

It could be worse, but I hate all the guaranteed money. what if he is beaten out by our two or possibly 3 WR draft picks along with Thielen, Bisi and whoever. We would then be paying him for nothing.

"all" the guaranteed money? Except for Thielen he is vastly more experienced than our little collection of misfits.

That just tells you somebody else offered him something ... or we've had a crush on him since he abused us three years ago. The non-gaurantee worthy guys are available 24 hours, 12 months out of the year.

I don't think much of Sharpe. I could easily see three WR draft picks beating him out along with Thielen, Bisi and one of our current stable of sucky WRs. How many WRs are we likely to carry? Hopefully we still draft at least 2 WRs that would be better than Sharpe.

How well do you know Sharpe? Been watching a lot of Titans games have you?

You obviously made up your mind and given up on him before seeing how he plays ... in our system / on our team / with our QB.

I have always liked Wright. I want to see him back with us, but I don’t think it will happen.

KG you have your hopes too high for Mitchell....Hollins, Sharpe, CFL guy, and Beebe are all above Mitchell for the 4th/5th spots.

Thielen
Draft Pick
Bisi
Sharpe
Draft pick/Hollins/CFL guy/Beebe

Not real sure that Sharpe isn't better than Bisi either.

I do hope that Zimmer gets a clue and promotes Mitchell. However, my confidence in Sharpe is so low that I think a myriad of persons could beat him out including the water boy.

I know that his rookie year started great and he has fallen off the face of the earth ever since. Yes I have watched the Titans play a lot of games and Sharpe has been invisible. Obviously I can't know how he will play in our system with our team and our QB until he does. I hope I am totally wrong about him, but IMO he offers little to nothing and judging by what he signed for most of the league agrees with my opinion. If it weren't for the guaranteed money I would have no problem with the deal so we could get him in camp and see how he does with our system our team and our QB before paying him. As is I'm not too worried about a potential waste of $650K.

675k isn't much guaranteed. I like the signing - had a solid rookie season. Injury then didn't do much, but I like having someone with experience ie Jarius Wright. Titans make us look like a pass happy offense.

EDIT: Someone already beat me to the Mitchell comment.

I still like Mitchell better. I know what I saw on tape and unless he has lost those skills he is the second best WR on the team.

Maybe Sharpe is still good, but like Mitchell on the Vikings the Titans were treating him unfairly and he will burst back onto the scene with us. A man can dream.

Sure ... but bad mouthing every body who competes with Mitchell – no matter how you justify it – is bad form.

Pff shows Sharp as improving slightly between 2016 and 2018 and improved significantly between 2018 and 2019. His blocking grades nicely and he appears to catch anything and everything thrown in his direction. I’d say we made a nice choice.

It's mostly joking with a little truth thrown in. My initial reaction to Sharpe is that he is worthless because of how his production had fallen off so bad since his rookie year. I'm hearing enough positive about him that I'm officially no longer against the signing.

hollins and davis made it off the practice squad a few times last year - i don't believe mitchell ever did...why do you think mitchell is the best of the group?....

i think that hollins makes a breakout move this season....

davis had great success in punt returning in college - i wonder why we haven't used him in this capacity....

I'm not going to believe Mitchell isn't the best of our scrub WRs until he is given a chance and shows he doesn't have what it takes. Maybe the Diggs trade will open up the possibility, but probably not. I think he got in the dog house and was never given a fair opportunity. I could certainly be wrong.

This explains why the Vikings are not making a move now. They are waiting for something.
