so funny how everyone is getting A's in draft grades because they are all picking just like the mock drafts without the in house visits...

Seen that Cleveland was born premature but was still 11 lbs

and then they noted, he is 311 pounds now, so he has gained exactly 300 pounds since birth

My top target today would be:

Trey Adams, OT, Washington

This draft has easily been the most similar to the mocks that I have ever seen.

Love the draft so far. Got 2 needed CB’s that could/should play big roles this year. We have the capital to take a shot at some guys with high ceilings that might not pan out. This is the time to take chances which should include QB IMO. I’d like to see another WR early in the 4th because the WR3 spot is wide open right now with Bisi and Beebe the ones with experience.

I think our top priority needs to be DT right now. We need to find someone that can get a push up the middle. If not a push, at least someone that can take up space and occupy blockers. I think that is probably our biggest hole right now.

Here's a very in depth link regarding the trade negotiations for Williams that were going on for weeks.
https://www.hogshaven.com/2020/4/25/21235816/report-trent-williams-made-it-known-he-didnt-want-to-go-the-vikings-killing-the-deal-for-redskins

All kinds of conflicting information. Williams specifically said he had nothing to do with killing the negotiations, but the article still says he did. Strange thing is if he didn't want to go to the Vikings why didn't he kill this weeks ago.

Good post. I think DT or Guard are the biggest need, but according to almost everybody the best player is Edge Curtis Weaver.

Pick up nickelback Robertson today and we have some major competition at CB. Boyd might have to move to safety.

Funniest thing said at the draft had to be the comments about Santa Cruz when Ashtyn Davis was selected. Trey Wingo - "His hometown is Santa Cruz, California, which is known for two things -- surfers and smoking weed."

Got a kick out of that one. Totally true. One of my absolute favorite places on earth. Amusement park right on the beach.

I seem to recall that Boyd has good safety traits. That might be the idea. I think I like Bryce Hall better than Robertson, but either would be good.

Still trying to figure out Spielman's draft "strategy". Yes, occasionally you find a diamond in the rough, but that's very rare. You're much likely to find an instant starter with earlier picks in the draft. I took a look at last year's roster and where each starter was picked by RS:

Offense
Diggs - 5th
Thielen - udfa
Rudolph - 2nd
Smith - 2nd
Cook - 2nd
Elflein - 1st
Bradbury - 1st
O’Neill - 3rd

Defense
Rhodes - 1st
Waynes - 1st
Alexander - 2nd
Smith - 1st
Harris - udfa
Barr - 1st
Kendricks - 2nd
Griffin - 4th
Stephen - 7th
Hunter - 3rd

Most of the guys on the roster started right away or were heavily involved in year one. The 2 undrafted players, Thielen and Harris, took several years to crack the lineup. All that said, it would seem like a team who isn't in full rebuild mode, and has a few specific holes to fill, would do everything possible to trade up and get the 4 or 5 players most likely to step in and start right way. Spielman got it right addressing WR, DB and OT, but then he missed on DT and OG by not trading up.

Difference between the 81st and 89th is 40 points. The 117th is 60 points. That fourth would have taken us to the 77th pick.

A 7th would have taken us from 105 to 101. Dantzler would have had to fall 12 spots.

I agree with this. We should have moved up in the 3rd and Spielman said he tried but couldn't make a deal. "Teams were not trading early in the 3rd round and couldn't find a partner." A lot of good DTs went in front of us in this round. I think we got sniped there. Then stayed where we were. Took Dantzler there just to make sure we didn't lose him. On the board I had... Dantzler was ranked 132 overall.

I think they wanted Justin Madubuike.

Goal for day 3? Intelligence and the physical ability to develop.

Pager has pick 117 being worth 60 points. I saw that pick 105 was worth 31 points and the picks we got combined were worth 30. Very different charts.

Doesn't matter if you can't find a trade partner. I guess if you gave up a 1st rounder from next year...

I'm disappointed we couldn't convert our draft capital into another second or third rounder ... but NOT missing out on DT Gallimore or someother 2nd day prospect is not going to make or break our draft.

After looking at espn's best available ... there is still a big grab bag of intriguing players.

My favorites for day 3:

Good list, but Missing Weaver, Biadasz, and K'von Wallace.

Yes but the guys on that list are Tom's favorite players. LOL

I know I'm obviously a homer on Weaver, but feel I can be objective, too. It's his burst off the snap that was so explosive. If you watch highlight tape, you'll see that he can time snaps really well. The only thing missing is his bull rush technique and hitting the weight room.

Also, the interview that Bruce provided w/ Ezra Cleveland was spot on about Boise's focus on blue collar work ethic.

A third next year is equivalent to a 4th this year is the rule of thumb.

Wallace yes definately. I like Lynch and Willekes better than Weaver and Bartch much better than Biadasz.

Again, there's a lot of intriguing guys ... I just mentioned a few that really appeal to me ... without looking how they 'rank'.

Still too much. Maybe if we were knocking on the door of the Super Bowl like the 9ers.

Curious to see how much he costs them salary wise.... The 5th this year? 3rd next year like a 4th this year I would have loved to give them a 4th and 5th this year for Williams. His salary demands against our cap combined with Dalvin salary needs coming up...would have been my only hold back obviously he would have been great to add especially in a year with limited off season...a real advantage in 2020 season for San Fan...
