I have this feeling that the Vikings are only going to make one first round selection this year. A trade back from either of their two picks is highly possible/probable since there are a whole bunch of guys that are all about the same from 20 to 40, value wise. Hell, Id be happy with trading both first rounders for early second rounds and more ammo. I think you will be able to still get Ruiz at 33 or 34, and probably one of Gladney, Fulton or Terrell at 35/36. Wouldn't surprise me at all.

Agreed Dana.
Esp if No Blue Chippers fall to 20-ish range.
(Kinlaw, Wirfs, Wills, Brown )

Would love to see us pick up 2 Gophers in TJ and 'Toine Jr.

Still high on Mims, would hate to see Puke get him.

The run of picks from 10-21 are painful to think about all happening as we count down to our pick too...

10. Atlanta Falcons – CJ Henderson, CB, Florida
The first trade in this scenario has the aggressive Falcons adding help on defense. The Browns are willing to move back, and Atlanta addresses an important need with Henderson.

11. New York Jets – Mekhi Becton, OT, Louisville
With no receivers off the board so far, the Jets will be tempted to go in that direction. But Becton has the talent to develop into the stabilizing force New York has been seeking on the offensive line.

12. Las Vegas Raiders – CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma
The Raiders are missing a playmaker on the outside and Lamb has the catch-point skills and football IQ that will appeal to both Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock.

13. Miami Dolphins – Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon
After passing on quarterback at No. 5 overall, the Dolphins move from No. 18 up to No. 13 in a trade with the 49ers, nabbing Herbert before another team (New England? Jacksonville?) makes a move to go get him. Don’t rule out Jordan Love here, either.

14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Jedrick Wills, OT, Alabama
Wills has no business falling this far (my top-ranked tackle), but it is a plausible scenario, something Tampa would love to see. This would provide immediate competition at right tackle and more help for Tom Brady.

15. Denver Broncos – Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama
The Broncos have made calls about a possible trade-up so it wouldn’t be a surprise if they move up from this spot. But in this scenario, they don’t need to, adding Jeudy’s route-running to complement Courtland Sutton.

16. Cleveland Browns – Ezra Cleveland, OT, Boise State
The Browns might have an interesting decision to make at No. 10 – draft one of the top tackles or trade back while picking up another Day 2 selection. They move back in this scenario and land a toolsy tackle they like.

17. Dallas Cowboys – K’Lavon Chaisson, Edge, LSU
To be honest, I will be surprised if Chaisson makes it this far, but the Cowboys won’t be disappointed if it happens. If Chaisson is gone, look for cornerback (A.J. Terrell or Trevon Diggs) to be the pick.

18. San Francisco 49ers – Henry Ruggs, WR, Alabama
The Niners move back five spots in this scenario and are still able to land a player they likely would have considered at No. 13. Ruggs has special athleticism, adding another wrinkle to Kyle Shanahan’s offense.

19. Las Vegas Raiders – A.J. Terrell, CB, Clemson
The Raiders added the playmaking receiver at No. 12 and now they get the cornerback. A 6-1 athlete with 4.42 speed, Terrell is well-liked by several teams.

20. Jacksonville Jaguars – Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama
If the Jaguars don’t draft a cornerback (CJ Henderson) at No. 9, a player like Diggs wouldn’t be a bad Plan B later in the first round.

21. Philadelphia Eagles – Justin Jefferson, WR, LSU
Can Jefferson line up outside as an “X” receiver? Maybe. But he offers the route-running, ball skills and toughness that fit any offensive scheme.

22. Minnesota Vikings – Austin Jackson, OT, USC
I think there is a decent chance the Vikings finish Thursday night with much-needed youth at offensive tackle, and Jackson is the youngest player in the draft.

I don't believe Kurt was talking about the Vikings using a first for Williams. He was talking about trading one pick out of the first round to save money, but I don't know if that would work.

I don't think they are saying they will trade a first for Williams.

Just that they wont use both. Like trade down for more picks

Yes that’s my point, trade back, or get Trent Williams, and move UP to get a player we really covet in the mid teens.

Hours before draft, there's been much talk among GMs about potential late-first-round moves, with Minnesota as a key cog in the discussions. This is mostly groundwork, since draft boards need to shake out. One GM said he expects Jordan Love to create movement if he's there in 20s

Someone floating that Trent Williams will pull a 1st rounder in exchange?

The Redskins are probably floating that one everywhere right now.

I run from that trade if indeed that’s where they’re at.

Best case outcome for me! That would really help our draft! He would still need to pass a physical when he comes to Minnesota.

Trent Williams would be worth much more than a 3rd round pick so if that is what takes to get him, that would be a steal.

If they pull that off I could see them moving up in the first round for a guy they really like, ... such as Okudah

A steal? I don't think so. The man has an injury history, a big contract and will be 32 when the season starts.

I agree it's not a steal – up front – I would call it a good deal because he's a beast when healthy, and you can invest in another position in the first rd.

It Williams plays a significant role for you in 2020 its an absolute steal.

I would be happy with Winfield and a QB (some say Hurts and Fromm may drop to 4th and 5th round):

42.9 Antoine Winfield, Jr. S Minnesota
58.9 Jalen Hurts QB Oklahoma
62.0 Jake Fromm QB Georgia

Trent Williams would be worth much more than a 3rd round pick so if that is what takes to get him, that would be a steal.

If they pull that off I could see them moving up in the first round for a guy they really like, ... such as Okudah

A steal? I don't think so. The man has an injury history, a big contract and will be 32 when the season starts.

I agree it's not a steal – up front – I would call it a good deal because he's a beast when healthy, and you can invest in another position in the first rd.

It Williams plays a significant role for you in 2020 its an absolute steal.

Williams would be far better than any 3rd rounder we would choose.
