Kyle Rudolph available.

He's already costing us $2.9 million against the cap in 2022 so seriously why not bring him in? If we gave him a one-year-deal for $2.9 million would it effectively have no impact on our current cap space?

Don't know how the cap would work there...but quite frankly the team has moved on from Rudy. and they should have. He's a shadow of his former self.

The previous regime would have brought him in and given him a seven-year extension worth $85-million guaranteed.

I am genuinely holding my breath for the first signing by the new regime.

There is so much up in the air right now.

We'll soon start seeing the restructures around the league. Very quickly after that a lot of teams will have enough cap to be players in free agency.

I think we might renegotiate say two contracts as they try to limit/avoid pushing cap into the future. Besides, their job is not to overpay for pricy projected top FAs (many who do not work out) but instead find the young, cheap players.

Yeah waiting for some early aromas. Some indications.

I know if I was in suddenly charge I’d cut people I didn’t like, sign as many celebrity over-priced name players as I could, and leave the cap swollen and unsalvageable for a decade. I couldn’t handle the new GM temptations.

As you say, disciplined smart decisions hopefully. Fix mode first.

The only splash I want is insight into QB intentions, whatever that is.

Under GM temptations, don't forget the wining and dining of those top FAs. You too get to enjoy the outings, at the expense of the Wilfs.

Great comment from Tommy Kramer:

Mike Lynn agreed to give me a 3 million dollar contract only if I went to Hazelden for 30 days, he gave Rickey Young a bonus to go with me. Rodney Dangerfield was there the same time, us 3 together, wasn’t good. 😂

Thank you for that. I love reading weird things.

Frankly, that's my greatest worry in FA ... Kwesi is skinnier than a hand-picked Zimmer Guard prospect.

He won't be enticing any FAs to hang out and negotiate with Kale or any other foul thing, much less close any deals.

Maybe they'll add a 'visiting FA specialist' to their big pile of coordinators, one that likes pancake stuffed burgers.

Tommy is a strange duck. He has a severe, dare I say, crippling substance use disorder. I've met him three times and he was shitfaced all three times. He's also incredible with fans. You can watch games at his house if you pay a relatively small fee. He'll give a stranger the shirt off his back. His close friends love him to death but they also have to protect him from himself. It's a strange mix of toxicity and support. One thing that I see as a problem for him is that he treats the fans like gold causing the fans to "party up" with him which might be just a way for Tommy to justify and rationalize his substance use. I don't blame the fans (or mostly don't as most of them don't know he's an alcoholic) yet it's still bittersweet to watch it all go down.

He's pissy that the organization doesn't let him participate in official game-day events and team-sponsored events. If I was his counselor I'd spend a lot of time on this fact. Get him to work through why the team is afraid to work with him publicly.

There’s only a few who want to see KFC extended.. they have nothing but fanboy hopes and fanboy dreams..

I hope we bit the fn bullet and let him be some other teams mediocre performance, mega cash drain, after this season.

Seems to me that anybody who has paid the least bit of attention to the Vikings would be aware that Kramer is an alcoholic.

I for one am really sick of the Cousins drama.

I've waited this long for a SB run, I was around for the last one.

If the Vikings can get a 1st round pick for him. I would down for a 2nd and a 3rd. Go for it. Im fine with a mediocre season.

Time to bite the bullet, move players, restructure and regain prominence again.

Count me in. The irony of the fear of the mediocre season is that we've been having... Wait for it... Mediocre seasons.

Dan, not new. was around for trib as well.

Here since 2007 when change over.

lurker mainly...

The purple shades are still there, tempered by the years of realizing you can't win it all each year.

All I'm asking for is one year to be ok, then return with a vengeance. I want Rodgers to stay so there will be a bigger bidding war on Cousins. God, am I so looking forward to rooting for a team lead by someone besides that dip shit.

Geoff, that was sarcasm..

My wife and I say “are you new?” When some one says something that obviously ridiculous…

Like if we trade cousins. We have a mediocre team.. “..

It like” are you serious?”

Not directed at you, I know you have been around since strib..

So have I.

Geoff, I want the Pack to trade Rodgers so they likely won't be as good. There will still be a few teams willing to give something for Cousins.

I wonder what year it was we started posting on Strib site ? Was it 1996 ?

Willis is really intriguing now that we have a coaching staff that may be able to develop a college QB that's a little raw.

Just read (via Chad Graff) Cousins has no intentions of signing an extension at any "discount".

I would just play him this year and let him walk, unless somebody actually offers up draft capital.

I don't really love any of the QB's in the draft, I don't think Kellen Mond will ever be an a viable starter, I still hope the Vikings trade Cousins this offseason.
