I don't mind Bud's ideas, especially to make the punt and kick off more interesting again. End of the game idea I could live without, but it would keep the game more interesting longer.

And in doing so end the careers of countless players prematurely. Believe it or not the NFL ALSO wants the game to be as interesting as possible. However, they've done their homework and see that kickoffs injure more players than any other type of play. They made the right decision.

I've seen the statistics and they are very mildly more dangerous. I've challenged people to name the players who had their careers ended due to KO or PR plays and it's a very small list. Playing tackle football is risky and taking some steps to ameliorate the risk is good. How far to go with those steps is the big question.

It isn't always one play....did you see the ST from the Saints documentary? Steve Gleason

Also check on how Orlando Thomas and Tim Green are doing.....players are getting ALS from the amount of hits.

Other former NFL players who have been diagnosed with ALS include Steve Gleason, Dwight Clark, O.J. Brigance, Tim Green and Kevin Turner. Eric Stevens and Steve McMichal are 2 more; most recent.

It's a dangerous sport. The only truly safe choice is to not play it.

And in the end, you die anyway.

Some just have more money than others when they do ....

Not exactly a special teams play.

I believe the message was I stepped over the line casually speaking about death ....

I think we had at that point crossed over to dangerous sport to play in general. You introduced death to the conversation and it veered off the special teams path.

I suppose, but the guy lived for 30 years after his football injury.

Making you correct that they all die in the end.

So KOC is impressed with Kellen Mond?

So Colin Kaepernick might get another shot in the NFL?

I guess he didn't practice well. We all know what we saw when he was in those preseason games. I'd take him to be our backup QB.

The strangeness of everything that is 2020 and beyond continues as it appears Jeff Gladney has passed away. He was 25.

Jeff Gladney dies at 25: Former NFL first-round pick involved in fatal car accident on Memorial Day
Gladney had signed with the Cardinals this offseason after starting his career with the Vikings
Patrik Walker

By Patrik Walker & Shanna McCarriston
Arizona Cardinals cornerback Jeff Gladney, a former first-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings, died Monday at the age of 25 -- confirmed by his agent, Brian Overstreet, to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram -- following a car accident in Dallas.

The Cardinals released the following statement about Gladney's death: "We are devastated to learn of Jeff Gladney's passing. Our hearts go out to his family, friends and all who are mourning this tremendous loss."

Details of the incident have not yet been revealed.

Gladney entered the NFL in 2020 after mounting a stellar run at TCU, leaving the Horned Frogs with first-team All-Big 12 honors in 2019 after earning second-team All-Big 12 honors the year prior. A native of New Boston, Texas, a town not far northeast of Dallas, Gladney was one of the most coveted talents at his position heading into the draft, and spent his first season with the Vikings before signing with the Arizona Cardinals this past March, as a part of their free agency haul.

The news of his passing has created an outpouring of grief from those who knew him best, including Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jalen Reagor, who played alongside Gladney at TCU.

"Lost my Brother, my best friend, my right hand man," said Reagor, via Twitter. "Ain't too much more I can take man, damn! R.I.P Jeff Gladney. Brother watch over me please."

This is a developing story.

I would have loved to have him, but we've already invested a lot into the DL through Free Agency.

I am just glad he isn't in the division to haunt us for 2 games.

I was much more impressed by Cole Murphy's FG kicking until he missed one LOL. That 60 yard kick would have been good from 65 and maybe more.
Sloter with a nice TD run to win it.

We need these 5th and 6th WRs to play special teams. Maybe Wilson is a special teams guy.
