It really is too bad their isn't NFL Europe or an XFL type of thing where NFL teams could play QB's under their contractual control to find out if they have what it takes.

It would help cleanup the 'crapshoot' at the position and I think if teams could assign players to these lower levels there would be some fan interest.

I would watch XFL, AFL ... if Sloter was playing and was a Viking under contract.

I've always agreed in theory that the QB is so important there should be some dev league...

But in reality... NFL Europe, XFL, Arena League & CFL never really produced much.

Kurt Warner is the amazing exception.
Maybe some NFL Europe guys... I can't remember.

I don't know if it's lack of opportunities or if there just isn't enough talent to develop.

Gotta give props to CFL for giving us Bud Grant and Joe Kapp ! as well as Warren Moon...

Who starts in place of Udoh, Wyatt Davis or Dakota Dozier?

I had a friend who went to the SF game. He sat next to Davis' dad. He said his son was doing most of his work at Center.

This is another thing that makes me nuts. Davis was a 5 star recruit out of high school at guard. He was an All Big 10 selection and a 1st team All American selection at guard. He was drafted as a guard. But, we think that a not very good offensive line coach is going to turn him into a center?

Welcome to the MN Vikings' practice field, where tackles are made to play guard, guards are made to play center, and the player with the most clout starts unless injured with no regard to talent or past performance. Who plays tackle you ask? The one good one of course and then whatever garbage we have lying around can play left tackle because as we know, left tackle is the most meaningless and least important of the spots. Just put wrestlers in at all the spots if possible.

Thatd prob work

- just a tip: if you're going to make fun of wrestlers you should probably keep it over the net and not face-to-face

I don't see that I made fun of wrestlers.

It struck me as being very complimentary to wrestlers.

It didn't have anything to do with wrestlers themselves but rather how the team seems to talk up their picks for the line by saying he was a wrestler. Was he? Great! Can he play his position well? No? Then who cares if he was a wrestler.

Ah, so it wasnt so complimentary after all ...

My apology for opening my mouth stands ...

I’m from Canby. I’m friends with Gerry Gingles. You don’t need to worry that I don’t have a deep appreciation for wrestling.

Nice. Glad to hear it.

I'm from a little town of less than 5000 that have 3 Olympians, 9 NCAA champions, and two coaches that went 1, 2 in D1 in the same year

NFL teams are 83-12-1 this season when winning the turnover margin by two or more. The Vikings, tied for second in the league with six such games, have four of those 12 losses.

So basically the Vikings win turnover battles, take leads into the 4th quarter, etc, etc, etc yet other teams somehow win against large sample statistical odds. Perhaps they think, ah we got this because the Vikings are soft, predictable, will choke, and the head coach will botch something near the end of the game.

You raise a good point. Zimmer was supposed to be a no-nonsense, kick-you-in-the-rear realist who taught a team to finish through grit and determination. That was supposed to be the stamp and identity of this team. Instead, it feels more like a stick on tattoo that rinsed off.

i read somewhere that the vikes have lost five games where they have won the turnover battle - that's a new franchise record....

Been no magic in the Vikes locker room since Zimm belittled Case for having a horseshoe and rabbits foot...

Zimm is a team chemistry killer, a no fun zone hard nose old school know it all dick who is out of touch and out of time to win with this team.

Rumor is the Wilfs will rack it all up for another year of same rather than shake it up and eat the contracts... The players and fans deserve more...

This pretty much points to coaching imo. Stats show 90% of the time teams win these games yet Zim manages to piss them away. stats tend to back up the eye test when it comes to Zim in game management.

A coach will always be made to look bad as a game manager if he has a quarterback that can't run a two-minute offense. In addition, a defense that is terrible at stopping one is equally damaging. The Vikings are one of the worst two-minute teams in the league this season. They've been outscored by about 50+ points this season in the final two minutes of halves. If they had just played competently in the final two minutes of halves they'd have a least two more wins, if not three or four.

I know its a rant I have that people are getting tired of, but it is 100% true. Cousins has a 101.2 overall quarterback rating. His quarterback rating in the final two minutes of halves is 76.5. He just doesn't get it done when it matters, plain and simple.

Aaron Rodgers -- 118.5
Joe Burrow -- 125.6
Russell Wilson -- 110.7

People are tired of Brad arguing about Brad. Your 2 min argument is just another of your futile campaigns to own a point of view that is neither wholly true nor wholly yours.

There are three or four posters who blame Cousins QB deficiencies on the situation around him. Most believe he’s good at some things and bad at others. Whoopee.

According to the Wash. Post, he’s about #10 in 4th qtr effeciency and #9 in late/close game passing efficiency. That wasn’t cherry picked, that was the first place I looked. And that is as far as I’m going to defend him because I want him gone.

But …. as other more neutral and even-handed posters than yourself have said, there’s a good chance our next QB - especially a highly touted young one if we are smart enough to go that route - will struggle for a time and perform less well than the #10-15 rated KC (if you go by stats … which I’m leery of).

Hopefully its worth it but you never know. Its super hard for this franchise to get it right.

COUSINS SUCKS, he ruined this teams momentum of 2017 with his signing

Get the F U CK over it, Cousins is not the missing piece... he was a piece of garbage move yet again by a GM that cannot evaluate QB talent

Cousins was a BAD signing, he is exactly what he is... He is the whole reason this team never took a step firther than Case had us in 2017 and honesty Cousins signing did MORTGAGE OUR FUTURE...

As of yesterday you could get a lower level ticket on the 30 yard line for as low as $160. It will be $120 by Friday.

Update: As of this moment $90 gets you in the door, $149 gets you lower level 30-yard line

Still $90 for the least expensive ticket, $140 gets you lower level on the 40-yard-line.

He is the whole reason this team never took a step further than Case had us in 2017 and honesty Cousins signing did MORTGAGE OUR FUTURE...

Kirk Cousins Says He's Not Worried about COVID-19: "If I Die, I Die"

Not a team leader, just a POS... stop making excuses for the piece of shit KFC!
