We have so many needs that it is fortunate a couple are at premium positions: CB, QB. I'd say DE if we played a 4-3, but with a 3-4 perhaps DT, OLB/Edge (depending on ZSmith's status).

Prediction: Kwesi continues to revamp the secondary while gaining draft assets to recoup the lost second pick. CB in a trade down.

Murph, I didn't realize that was your perspective.

I was going to have the Vikings trading up for Levis, because my gut has us getting stuck with him.

But I now think the Vikings are more likely to take the QB that falls, and I think it will be Richardson, because of his lack of experience.

I too am going with Richardson in the draft challenge, as that is who I think the Vikings will draft.

Trade Cousins to SF for 2024 2nd. Trade Hunter and Z to whoever for 2024 2nds.

Trade 23/24/25/26 # 1's to Houston for #2.

Well be fine next year with the bevy of 2nd rounders. Just have to go 2 more years wo a 1st.

Does anybody do any post draft analysis of all these mock drafts to show how stupid they all are?

All it takes is a trade or two early and the endless articles turn into a big pile of crap.

Thats like asking if all the moves in the history of monopoly have ever turned into actual property.

The draft is a game period. Its an opportunity for fans to make moves and accumulate talent to improve their team in play time, not real time.

Don’t be such a curmudgeon.

I know of many people that love the drama---friends will turn down great seats to a Twins game to sit home and watch the draft with friends and family.

Well that's stupid.

You can go to the game, and watch the draft on your mobile device (phone).

Best of both worlds IMHO

Hoping to see more participants in the Draft challenge.

If able to do a second one, I would have had the Vikings trading back to later in the 1st round, and then selecting S Brian Branch. I think there is a good chance of this, if they're not able to trade up for a QB.

If they are going to trade up. they likely already have parameters in place with certain teams if the guy they want is there.

I'm still hoping for Hooker. I think he has the potential to be the best QB out of the class.

Trading up for Richardson would be super exciting, but man, that's a "boom/bust" pick. And unless he suddenly drops, expensive.

Some are saying top 5 is too rich for us but we'd love to pounce on someone between 5 and 10.

Some say teens.

Smells like - we sure wanted to make a move...

Then someone will move up to 22 for Hooker...

Preparing to be disappointed in 5 hours.

I'd rather be ecstatic in 3 but Kwesi's gonna blow it.

Maybe Cook or Z Smith will be part of a trade, although trades with current players seem to rarely happen during the draft.

17 TD, 9 Int doesn't cut it.

Holy Crap! that comment made me look up Richardson's stats ... I knew he was a project ...

I did not realize he's still a single-celled organism being cultured in a petri dish.

Tried to post stats, didn't work. Anyway, they are ridiculously underwhelming.

Yeah I went crazy and bought a USA Today ($3, who knew!) and it had basic 2022 stats on 15 QBs.

It also had a simple chart on QBs taken in the 1st round showing success and failure by draft position from 1999 to 2022 (late years TBD). What struck me was the obscene failure rate for QBs taken at #2 and #3 overall. It was 11 fail, 2 successful. McNabb at #2 in 1999 was a success. So in this century it's 11:1. Like Cousins' years to playoff win ratio.

Re Richardson or whoever, there will always be coaches who will insist they, and they alone, have the ability to make him (or any player) a star.

I just saw an interesting mock draft that I wouldn't be opposed to, even though I am not a big fan of Hooker.

The mock had the Vikings taking RB Bijan Robinson at 23, then trading UP to the end of the 1st round for QB Hendon Hooker.

Then you have a QB in a rookie contract, starting with some nice weapons around him.

So the guy behind the S2 test said the results somehow got out. And that what was published was inaccurate. He said something like most everyone (the top QBs?) did ok.

Love drafting Hooker. Hate drafting a RB in the 1st.

I saw that mock too. Every other mock has Robinson going in the top 10.

Amusing that they categorized it in the ‘news’ section. As if anybody’s mock draft is news.

Love drafting Hooker. Hate drafting a RB in the 1st.

I wouldn't consider Hooker before the third and I just about guarantee he doesn't go in the first.

Agreed...I hope we don't trade up at this point without Stroud to move up for...just don't feel good about Richardson or Levis

Accolades to Young and Stroud, they deserve to be the top two...

Richardson and Levis are both inaccurate and not likely to be worth the trade up...

Gimme Hooker at 23 and I am good...

I am fine staying put now and taking a cb wr iol dt
