They dropped 15 spots, Idgaf what round you want to call it. The NFL calls it the 3rd round, so will I.

Every year this comes up.

There could be 20 compensatory picks in a round and we trade into the last one. Come hell or highwater, by god we stayed in the round even though value wise we ended up with the 20th pick in the NEXT round.

Wow, it's like you're back in the gameday thread as the angry guy.

You can call it the 1st round for all I care. Fact is, it's 4th round value.

What matters is how many slots you move, the round is pretty much irrelevant when the comp picks start. However, the NFL calls it the 3rd, so it's the 3rd.

It's crazy that Detroit has already made 6 picks before Minnesota makes their 2nd.

Here's a fun exercise. Everyone who complained about the move back, submit who you would've picked at 87 that isn't available at 102. I'll even try to pick one. In 3 years we'll all come back to this page and figure out who was right.

One reach player in round 1 and nothing but a glorified fourth round starter pick as mr. Irrelevant for day 2..

Yea..

Draft grade for KAM .. 2years running.. d-.. trading this years second round pick for Hock is the only thing he did worth a damn, and that is at best a B- move.

It matters when teams are using value charts, which they do. Unlike you, they likely factor in adjusting them especially as the pool of comp picks become an ever larger factor as the rounds go on. It's stuff over your head.

So we trade out of the 3rd round where there's a chance of picking up a good player so we can get extra camp fodder in the later rounds. Makes a lot of sense......

They didn't trade out of the 3rd round, they traded to the end of the 3rd. 15 picks difference. If any of those 15 guys become a great player you can lay into Queasy & KOC then.

Exactly, who is the stud at 87 that you coveted?

They now have a 1 in 3 shot of getting a solid player vs 1 at 87... we shall see.

Yep, you have nothing. Just don't trying assigning value to any trade from the 3rd round on and you'll be ok.

Vikes get a CB from USC.

NFL analyst had a 6th round grade on him FWIW.

Hrrmmm.... Ringo, Phillips, Rush, Smith & Hodges Tomlinson all rated higher.
Blackmon did have a really good year last year... we'll see how much Kwesi knows his business.

From CBS:
Mekhi Blackmon CB, USC
Height: 5-11, Weight: 178
Chippy, sticky outside CB with a tiny, spindly frame. Always around the football. Was a big-time sleeper. Can play inside or on the perimeter. Great pick. (Chris Trapasso) A-

The Lions sure think they’re draft geniuses. Every draft room clip has them hugging, chest bumping, genuflecting, break dancin. The other draft rooms are pretty animated too I guess. Feels contrived or they’re all high lol, no way every team got their man each time.

Meanwhile the 49ers drafted a kicker in round three, interesting lol.

It was a nice shoutout by Robert Smith to honor some of the recent passings of former Viking coaches and players and he didn’t troll the crowd like some of these other morons did. Maybe I’m too old for this shit heh. Guess we’re going USC this year. I think we got two good players. The first pick is still confusing considering our needs but at least he’s a good WR. Guess we’ll see what tomorrow brings. Maybe a kicker!
