I think its because of "wishful thinking".

Doubt it happens but I can see KAM not wanting to pay S big money and Cine is on a rookie contract. I don't think that's their plan but I can kinda see how it would make some sense.

So what's the plan if this is Smith's final year?

Metellus (who is more of a S/Nickle/LB hybrid) and...?

No. Metellus is a "no position" guy in this D. What i've heard/read is that Jackson's been killing it all camp. I can't, personally, comment. I was only able to watch the preseason opener.

Which chaps my ass actually. When did the NFL network stop carrying every preseason game? I get it, they can't all be live but dang. I still would have liked to watch them.

Brzez can print out a contract, complete with two void years and a void year placeholder, in 30 seconds. 'Big money' is unlikely and it doesn't matter to him anyway.

I quote Purple Daily a lot, and I understand they aren't the 'be all', but they were mentioning that it's Bynum's side that might be asking/expecting it. Agree that Brzez can make it work. He always does. They just don't think that S is a high dollar position in BFlo's D.

I don't think you even quoted them. Them being a couple pf podcast guys speculating on something that "might" be.

For real? It doesn't show up on any of the searches when I checked. Might have to just go 1by1 and try and find it. Thanks!

Sounds like Kyries Hebert.

I had to do a 1 month sub to NFL+ to get the preseason games.

Which reminds me, I need to cancel that before I get charged for another month...

Need to ink Bynum. Kwesi clearly has trouble picking S's

I think Kwesi has improved from draft to draft.

Low bar

Nothing to do with you.

Full discloser: I thought it was funny Dan calls anyone a hater and below that he hates

I make no secret of my “ hate” for KFC..

Never have..

What I see is people hating on a player because if he sticks, and contributes, they are gonna look foolish..

Hater have hated on Hall, Cine, Addison, Favrey, Ponder, Carlson, Moss, Peterson..

On and on…

I’m not picking on any one person..

If you think I am, and you name is not Phil or Marty..,

Check yourself..

I think Hall was brought in to be what he is.. a solid backup better than Mullet.

Cine is processing through a horrible injury, and KAM is trying to get the player that showed promise at Georgia.

Since none of us have any control, I choose to see upside and a “ move the **** on”, from Harrison Smith, who likes Cine as well.

Until he doesn’t, I say he makes the 53.. because his trade value is less than his usefulness on defense..

We are trade shopping Bynum.

As we should..

We need picks for 2025..

Hell we could trade Bradbury or Risner as well..

Return of Driveling Dan to a thread near you!!!
2 coherent sentences is better than 16 incoherent ones.

Thats a true statement.

Even so, two years before we really know anything, 2024 looks good. IMO.

Vikings are placing offensive lineman Dalton Risner on IR. He will be eligible to come back after four games.

I had Risner getting cut in my latest roster projection, but this works out better for the Vikings.

I imagine they'll keep Dan Feeney and Tyrese Robinson (or Michael Jurgens) on the initial 53, with Risner potentially becoming a factor once healthy.

I had OLB Gabriel Murphy getting the second IR slot that doesn't knock you out for the year, so now he'll either be waived (perhaps with an injury designation) or put on the roster outright.

Cutdown day. Loose predictions on some of the 'names' who will get Das Boot:

Roy
Evans if they keep McGlothern
Cine unless they keep six safeties (including Metellus)

Offense doesn't seem to have any potential surprises or noteworthy cuts.

That I can recall this is the most I've wondered about a single player getting cut.

I'd of offered anyone a $1 wager that he wouldn't get cut up until it was time put up or shut up. Interesting

Id say credit for this debate can be traced back to Dan and Bill -- well done!

all of the talking heads had risner being cut...kwesi gave him $1.1mm guaranteed on at $2.3mm 1yr contract...risner is an average quality guard, but $2.3mm is cheap for an average quality guard....

he still could be cut down the road...can't cut an injured player without an injury settlement....

The #Vikings plan to move on from NT Jaquelin Roy, a fifth-round pick last year, per source. He'll be traded or waived by today's deadline.

If the Vikings win with this roster, under these circumstances, Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell should get a lifetime contract and defensive coordinator Brian Flores should be an NFL head coach in 2025.

Either they are going to trade him or they have another RB out their they know is going to come available that they are targetting.

With Nwangwu gone the RB room is currently Jones, Chandler and CJ Ham.

I can't believe they will go into the season with basically two RBs and a FB. More has to be going on there.

Agreed. It would be an incredible job.
