everyone seems to think Houston will go for OL, so perhaps an OL needy team (maybe Balt?) will
jump up to trade with us

Schefter:

Michigan CB Will Johnson Jr. has a knee issue that has concerned some NFL teams and helps explain why he still has not been selected.

so he is definitely on KAM's radar

I know he wants to trade back, but Johnson is good!

Last remaining guard in the top 70 or so. Reach. But obviously the plan was to draft a guard.

At least it gets Brandel out of the lineup.

A lot of people including Mel Kiper got this one right. I'm always a fan of drafting Offensive Linemen.

The Giants took dart over Sanders. Kiper of course went on and on about Sanders.

ESPN:

Jackson started 30 games at left guard and nine games at left tackle at Ohio State. He covers up defenders and gets some push in the run game. Jackson is also quick enough to reach linebackers when he climbs to the second level and can get out in front when he pulls. He is tough to shake when he locks on in pass protection, and he can easily reset if he doesn't win with his hands initially. He fits best at guard, where he is a better pass blocker than he is at tackle, but he moves well enough to compete and provide some depth at tackle. -- Steve Muench

By the time his Buckeyes career concluded, Jackson had accumulated over 2,500 snaps, earned three First-Team All-Big Ten selections, and garnered All-American recognition from multiple publications. His academic achievements, including Distinguished Scholar honors, demonstrated the same dedication off the field that made him such a force between the white lines.

Of course the Giants trading up for Dart stole our thunder

they barely talked about Jackson...

just let Schefty announce the trade and the Vikes were instantly forgotten

Trade back would have been nice.

FWIW, Lance Zierlein said Houston wanted Jackson at #25. Made sense to draft a premium LG to play LG. OLine is set.

Now, if Assante Samuel or Jaire Alexander are Vikings by next week, things are looking pretty solid.

Kwesi couldn’t afford to miss on this pick, given his shaky draft history and the shortage of picks this year. He went with a safe pick. A very solid athletic dude, Day 1 starter who should help protect JJ.

I approve. Good pick.

I think we have 26 roster spots open before draft.

I can see us spending big money to get some high ranked UDFAs on the roster.

This team never learns..

This is gonna be the worst draft since Erasmus and underwood and Williamson. With ponder as the cherry on top of the pileochit.

So. As bad as you thought or worse?

Field Yates, ESPN:

Donovan Jackson to the Vikings just might be my favorite pick of the night.

By the end of this past season, he had put on elite tape at both guard AND left tackle.

An extremely dependable, selfless player. He's tough, rugged and athletic. Excellent football player.

How can you consider Jackson a reach. He was a National Champion, all American, 3 times first team big ten, large and tested extremely well. What is there not to like?
