ORIGINAL: TJSweens Assuming Lopez recovers fully, he Ryan and Buxton form a 3 man core. You can't swing enough deals to build around a core that small for a playoff run. Sell, sell, sell. Brooks Lee What about him? A core player? Not at this point. I like him, he certainly has shown signs of settling in as a consistent major leaguer. But part of a core to build around? He's not near there yet. Lee looks like a utility infielder at this point. No evidence to support the notion of him being a core player. Utility infielder, like Punto. I didn't say like Nick Punto, you did. There is a big difference between saying someone looks like a utility infielder or that he has yet to show he can be a core player and saying that player sucks. Another failed attempt to put words in my mouth. No one knows until he gets 1000 At bats. Batting .250 with 13 HRs this year. I think he has a better chance at sticking than Larnach as he can field his position at least.
