Since our season effectively ended on July 31st I don't see why we can't get this offseason prediction shit underway now.

Here's what I think is going to happen:

Starting Rotation.

Ideally they keep Pablo Lopez and add a FA or another pitcher via trade and have Lopez, Ryan, Ober, New guy and Zebby/SWR

What will happen
Twins will trade Pablo Lopez and start next season with a rotation of Ryan, Ober, Zebby, SWR and Bradley. A couple of the young guys will start the year at AAA, but a bunch will get shots at the bullpen .

Bullpen
Need to sign/trade for about 4-5 bullpen arms

What will happen
As I mentioned above we will use some of the young pitchers out of the bullpen, grab some has been/never was off the trash heap and pray it rains rose pedals and sugar candy.

C - Jeffers should stay, but they need a bridge until one of the two young catchers we got in the fire sale is ready for the majors in a couple/few years.

What will happen
We keep Vasquez too. despite all his shortcomings.

1B - We really need a regular guy at the position. Need a new one.

What will happen,
They giftwrap the job for Kody Clemens and keep Eddy Julien around as a backup.

2B - Keaschall's to lose, hard to get this one wrong, but I'm sure they will try

ss - I'd like a better defensive guy here but I am guessing it's Lee's to lose.

3B - Royce Lewis's to lose - but they need a vialbe backup for the first 60 or so games of the year after Lewis messes up his quad or hammy again

LF - I see one of the rookies starting the season probably here...Most likely Jenkins with Gonalez followed by Fedko and Rodriguez waiting in the wings...but they will giftwrap the job for Austin Martin to begin the year.

CF - Buxton is locked in here for the next few years unless they can convince him to waive his no trade clause. He'd never be more valuable that he is right now.

RF - Probably Wallner - Even though he's a left handed version of Miguel Sano. but again young OFs ready for the show are knocking hard on the door.

DH - well, I kind of like this spot the way Rocco uses it, to give his guys a pseudo night off in the field but keep the bat in the lineup.

Coaching staff - most should be fired but they will keep all the wrong guys, including Rocco. They'll use the excuse that they were dealt a bad hand.

I do have to say that the aggressive approach they've started to take on the bacepaths intrigues me. I like them stealing more bases etc.

Front office - Should be shitcanned too, but will keep their jobs....why? because they will keep tightening the pursestrings as instructed by their cheap ass lowlife scumsucking retarded monkey brained dipshitted ownership.

I think Jeffers will be traded. Going to start getting semi-expensive for the Twins in arbitration. He's proven enough that we could get a decent prospect or two for him in a deal.

I don't think they will go outside the organization for starting pitchers. They acquired Abel, Bradley and Rojas to compete with Zebby, SWR and Festa for the last two rotation spots.

Lee looks like a UI to me. After 649 AB he has an OPS of .638. Roughly 80 points below league average. Barely adequate defensively, so I'm sure the Twins will give him every chance to be the every day SS.

Vazquez sucks ass. Worst hitter in all of baseball. My hope is that they would bring Jhonny Pereda back before Vazquez.

There are a lot of free agent catchers available that would be just about as good as Jeffers, but much cheaper.

Not as easy as you think. Everybody wants to upgrade their bullpen. That drives the price of the better pitchers up and the Twins are not going to compete. We will do what we always do, wait for the FA dust to settle, grab up some flotsam and jetsam and hope to catch lightning in a bottle.

Baldelli managed from a spread sheet, no gut decisions. Pitchers rarely got to go a third time through te lineup.
Burned through bullpens. I also thought our fundamentals were really bad. Even though the problem runs so much deeper Falvey is really bad ar his job,brought him over to develop pitching he failed at that also. You can’t fire owners but they are the real problems.

No tears shed for Rocco’s departure. I didn’t love him, didn’t hate him. Second guessed him a lot but I do that with all managers. I figured it was 50/50 he’d get booted so no surprise.

Time for a change. I’m fine with it. It’s the nature of the business.

Good luck to the next guy though. It’s not like the Twins are going to rebuild in the off season. That’s not what this purge was about, despite what the Pohlads say. It was a salary dump.

And payroll is not going to up after a dump like that.

I love how Falvey says that goals were not met and he takes personal responsibility for that. Looks like Rocco took responsibility for it instead of Falvey.
