So ... the financial analyst experiment got axed ... didn't have enough football in him to be a football executive.

And we've replaced him with a salary cap guru.

And just to make sure the salary cap guru has enough time for important football decisions ...

we've hired a second salary gap guru.

We're good to go.

We're not even in it for football anymore, we're going to win the Wilfs a super bowl version of cap management.

Thomas (reverting to his area of expertise): Hey Rob, I have some interesting ideas for the cap.

Brzez (losing it): GD it! I'll do the cap and contract stuff! After all, didn't you find the old records in Seattle where I punked them with the Poison Pill? You go find free agents and draft picks!

The only thing this setup is good for is to absolve everyone of any accountability.

Brzez & Thomas: Uh, hey I'm just a cap guy.

KOC & Flores: Uh, hey I'm just a coach.

Ziggy & Mark: Uh, hey we hired a bunch of people.

Kwesi: Uh, hey they went zero dark thirty on the GM hiring process.

I think KOC and Flores are probably happy as can be. They will probably be the ones collaborating with the scouts to make the picks. Queasy and his evaluation metrics won't be involved.

The weirdest part still is that in the NFL there is 32 GM jobs when Kwesi was out for multiple weeks everyone was amazed.......apparently most of the coaches and other execs were there to a point of sleeping in their office during Camp and Kwesi wasn't to be seen. Highest point of contention.

I’m sure they are.

It remains to be seen if our draft production will be better.

I assume Kwesi was weighing their input the most before over splurging on his picks.

Improvement in our college scouting? Nope. Experience building a roster through the draft? Nope.

Maneuvering or trading picks with other GMs with a minute on the clock? Nope.

A better feel for positions rising and falling in the draft? Nope.

Maybe its not rocket science and we’ll be better off with KOC and Flores and Bzrez.

That speaks to KAMs low standard, not our current placeholder status.

Until something changes Kwesi can say he is literally irreplaceable in Minnesota.

It might be simply that 2 cap guys were needed to undo the damage done by Kwesi?

From what I have been reading Queasy only valued input from his analytics models. The scouts were getting openly frustrated from constantly getting blown off by him. One report even said Wilf finally intervened and told KAM that he had to make himself available to the scouts.

I'm with you, we don't know how they will draft, but it sure can't get any worse. Talkvikes posters could sit down with their favorite draft sites and run a better draft than KAM.

Thats fair. I haven’t followed that closely, certainly hadn’t heard about the scouting disconnect. I just assumed they were part of the issue. I’ve been making so much fun of KAM-KOCs overboard collaboration, I’ve missed the mark wide, again.

Anyway, we are launched for better or worse.

I’ve often wondered the same thing in these past few drafts. I’m the furthest thing from a draft guru. But give me a couple of days to peruse scouting reports, mocks, etc and let me do the picks, and by pure luck I bet I could have had as many hits as Kwesi’s analytics yielded.

The Underwood one is the best as his own college coaches told Denny not to draft him.

Underwood was at least the end of the first round. Ponder at 12 was higher on my list. Treadwell at 23 also.

This franchise is turning into a circus act. I figured they'd let Brez hire someone that was a proven player evaluator not another bean counter.

Like I've said for years. Completely dysfunctional franchise that nobody takes seriously.
