Browner, McDaniel. Moss... 3/4ths of the Vikings Mt. Rushmore.

Page or Tarkington or Bud Grant for your #4?

Tough choices

Chuck Foreman

Chuck Foreman is my favorite NFL player of all time!

I've met him twice in person and was a great guy. I have an autographed authentic jersey of his.

That said, he, along with Peterson don't make my top 6.

A Page throwback is the only Vikings jersey I own.

There will never be a moment I'm ashamed or embarrassed or have any unwillingness to wear it.

Such a tough list to pick from....
Page has to be included because he was as great off the field as on the field but you have to include Peterson, Blair, Jared Allen, Randle, and Krause in the list already made.

Maybe focusing all offseason on one instead of five positions will help Brandel. Its like Spielman’s epiphany at the end of his tenure that OL drafted early have a better chance for success than OL drafted late. Who knew!

I like the decision, I also like the minimal Demark investment (not cheap for a certain backup but worth the grab IMO if he was properly scouted) … I would be wholesale pillaging RFAs from other teams with no or low pick compensation. Let somebody else develop for a few years then swoop in.

My thought is if they draft a C then they'll have 4 OL under contract for several years plus O'Neill. Brandel moving to backup provides pretty good IOL depth and VanDerKamp backs up at T. That would be, within reason, fully addressing the OL or close to it.

Then again, there are needs all over the place. How about selecting a CB and S with the top two picks to help stop teams from converting on 3rd and 16. A dominant DL would be great. And a WR. And...

Some news from AZ — The Vikings plan to pick up Jordan Addison's fifth-year option, per interim GM Rob Brzezinski. Still very much viewed as a core piece to what they want to do offensively.

Nor a Jared Allen jersey that is Phil's go-to considering Allen had
1. Multiple DWIs
2. A substantial career as a Chief.

Nothing compared to Alan Page. Or any of the Vikings greats!

I have two throwbacks.. Page and Tarkenton..

I need to get them tailored.. the numbers and name plates are only single stitched, and the stitching is poor quality..

But they are really nice jerseys otherwise.. none of that silk screened crap..

Adrian Peterson? No way.. his off field crap is toxic..

page would be my vote.. OG PPE, and a State Supreme Court Justice..

Hands down easy..

My Go to?
I got it for Christmas as a gift......just not a big jersey guy and outside of a couple Vikings Sweatshirts it is the only jersey I have to wear to games.

Page played 4 years for the Bears. Fran played 5 years with the Giants. So that (playing for other teams) shouldn't matter.

So are we naming Sainthood or the 4 best players in Vikings History? Those names still should be in the conversation......

Feeble. First of all choosing 8 people for your top four lol.

Blair? What???

Page and Tarkenton played most if their seasons and built HOF careers in purple. Allen played more seasons with non-biking teams so, yes, its back on the table.

But whatever you’re entitled your top four eight vikings … go for it.

All of Page's accolades came in his 12 years with the Vikings.

YMMV, but I'm not wearing the jersey of a person I don't respect, so AD is out.

Jared Allen is more like Steve Hutchinson than any of the oft-mentioned Vikings.

In retrospect Browner was a favorite Viking but the strict four for the mountain are Page, Moss, Tarkenton, McDaniel.

Randy Moss was only voted First Team All Pro three times with the Vikings. Ron Yary and John Randle six times apiece.

Did you post it twice for effect?

The hay day for the Vikes was the 70s which was a little before my time so that was Fran, Page, Foreman, Eller, Krause, Yary, etc. but since it was a little before my time Randle, McDaniel, Moss, CC, Blair, Allen, Doleman, and AP were what I saw mostly.

Blair was incredible at blocking kicks on top of making the Pro Bowl 6 times.

Matt Blair, the Minnesota Vikings linebacker (1974–1985), recorded 20 blocked punts, field goals, and extra points in his career. He is a Vikings franchise leader and recognized as one of the best special teams players, with 20.5 total blocked kicks often cited, featuring 19 combined blocked FGs and XPs.

If I was to pick 4 and you wanted near saint hood types:

Blair, Page, Fran, CC.

During his career, the seasons that mattered by any standard - not the wind down seasons at the end that many great players endure - Moss played his first 7 seasons with Min, 2 with Oak, 3 with NE.

End of story.

They used to have the Vikings Exhibition basketball games......to make extra $$$ in the offseasons. One year they played over 112 games. I never did see Matt Blair or Teddy Brown play basketball but I heard it was fun to watch how athletic they were:

We all know who Blair was. As a LB, he was ‘only’ very good for 7 seasons, one year as an all pro.

Sounds like ‘favorite player’ type of thing, like Foreman, Randle, Millard for me.

You can’t put Blair in the conversation of 4 best vikings ….

well you can but, it would be like arguing Warren Zevon was the seminal songwriter during his time.

Blair won rookie of the year in 1974 on that loaded Super Bowl team and made it to the Super Bowl three of his first four years on the team. Coincidence?

He did not.

You're putting me in a devil's advocate position, as if I really want to minimize Matt Blair's career.

Any objective rabid vikings fan would not put him near the top four.

IMO It's not even close. Top 20? I think so.
