ORIGINAL: David Levine After a week 1 struggle, the Lions don't look like they miss Ben Johnson at all. Some really creative playcalling last night on offense and their new IOL dominated Baltimore. Lions tore the Ravens apart on both lines of scrimmage: 224 rushing yards and 7 sacks. Freakin' Lions looked ready for the playoffs tomorrow. Long season of course ... so we'll see. Wasn't impressed with Lamar's night though, the pass rush was great but he stepped into a few sacks. His lack of evasiveness, to my eye, was only partly the defense. If the Falcons / Robinson spanked us (I don't care who was injured) ... Gibbs and Montgomery are going to demoralize us. I know I'm a broken record but, the defense starting slow and playing better as the season goes along ... into a playoff worthy defense ... will be a first for the Vikings with Flores. Really hoping we get there. And with something more than trickery, fakery and chicanery. I like our chances better if Cashman, Van Ginkel, and Harry are all available. Obviously. Every team wishes they were healthier. Who know’s down the road, who’s going to be healthier. I’m not going to forecast being healthier than the next guy though … when you suck at drafting and pull in talent from a pre-existing condition medicare list … Regardless, I still believe the defense can turn a corner and play much better than the first two games, injuries aside. Browning/Bengals vs Rogers’ outrageous performance aside.
