QB Ratings:

1) Lamar Jackson
2) Jared Goff
3) Sam Darnold
4) Drake Maye
5) Jordan Love
6) Baker Mayfield
7) Matthew Stafford
8) Aaron Rodgers
9) Dak Prescott
10) Daniel Jones

what's amazing is three of those qb's were begging to be vikings this season...o'connell has huge regrets with the decision he made....

Where are we at on the season again? Week 7 and we still have chance at this point to win the division. I think that is pretty good considering injuries and the strength of schedule.

Woohoo! Another season of not being that good being good enough for the playoffs. You can blame injuries, scheduling, and swallows carrying coconuts …

but I’m still waiting to see the franchise show real in-season improvement with this regime.

Exactly mis representing what I am saying. Detroit Lions have 2 losses; are they done?

Cashman, Jones, and O'Neil back. Van Ginkel closer and Darrisaw and Smith not on a snap count.

You guys just can't stop yourself from talking about Sam Darnold. The guy is in your head.

Actually I'm thinking we should have given the Patriots the farm to get Maye.

We were willing to give up a ton for Jaylen, Maye, and Caleb.

They weren't going to trade out of the spot. They absolutely loved Maye.

I wonder if anyone agrees with my opinion on it: the Vikings lucked into the QB that is most likely of the 2024 1st round QBs to win a Super Bowl.

Anyone agree with this ?

Caleb is in a good situation, but he is still missing too many of the easy throws.
Daniels has a poor defense, and is missing his #1 WR.
Maye, a good start this season, but it's early.
Penix is getting better, turning into a good situation.
Nix is doing well, has a good defense, I feel he lacks a really good #1 WR.

McCarthy, much too soon to tell, but his situation could quickly turn into a great situation if the defense gets healthy, and the QB play becomes good, which I suspect it will, and it could be from any of the 3, Wentz, McCarthy or Brosmer.

With the schedule getting tougher, it appears the Vikings could be headed for 7-9.

But if the team gets healthy, and one, or a combination of the QBs play(s) well, this team could end up winning 10 games, and going on a deep playoff run.

I have a feeling the latter is more likely than the former.

This team struggled against the bad teams. Basing it on blind hope isn't going to accomplish anything. Wentz isn't the guy and honestly we have no clue how good or bad McCarthy will be. The defense better be lights out or it'll be a long season. I just want JJ to at least get experience. The bench isn't going to make him better.

Are Pittsburgh and Atlanta considered bad teams?

From the Athletic:

O’Connell has reportedly spent the bye week working with McCarthy on improving his mechanics, especially his footwork, an area of concern over the season’s first two games before McCarthy apparently sustained a serious ankle injury that has kept him sidelined for more than a month. Concerns about McCarthy’s unrefined mechanics stretch back to the offseason, when the second-year QB would miss easy throws and held the ball long enough for the pass rush to get home in practices. O’Connell and the Vikings might have no choice but to turn back to McCarthy in Week 7 against the Eagles with Carson Wentz “managing a serious left shoulder injury,” according to The Athletic’s Alec Lewis. McCarthy would be a significant downgrade for all of Minnesota’s pass catchers.

My obvious question: How do you work on footwork if you have a serious ankle injury? Loved how it was worded......"apparently sustained a serious...."

I'm telling ya, this kid ain't hurt.

Oh no a division leader in October. Let's see how it plays out. My prediction? Same as last year. Make the playoffs and get bounced first thing.

He's healthy enough to go prancing around in a pumpkin patch. Interesting therapy for and ankle sprain.

Prancing around a pumpkin patch? This isn't quite the gotcha picture you think it is. You can walk around pretty well after a couple weeks with an ankle sprain. Running, cutting, planting, throwing, getting tackled is little different.

Puka Nakua sustained a high-ankle sprain in the second quarter last week and returned in the second half. He wants to play this week but they are likely to hold him out for a week. He's considered day-to-day.

Ankle injury is pretty much the most common injury in the game. It generally doesn't keep guys out 5-6 weeks if they are any good and the team needs them. Patrick Mahomes had an ankle injury all last season and played in 16-of-17 games.

At some point you need to go out and play, and quit hiding behind your newborn at the Pumpkin Patch.

We are 22 games into McCarthy's career and he's played in two games with two touchdowns and three interceptions. The "B" word is only a few more games away.

You guys keep talking about him like he's just a rookie. He's not. We gave up on a guy that won 14 games last year because some genius thought we had something special.

The reality is that was the cakewalk part of the schedule. The defense better be on point or we're looking at 6-7 wins.
