Ankle injury is pretty much the most common injury in the game. It generally doesn't keep guys out 5-6 weeks if they are any good and the team needs them. Patrick Mahomes had an ankle injury all last season and played in 16-of-17 games.

You don't know what you're talking about. Across all sports, a high ankle sprain is usually a multiple week recovery. If Nakua only misses a week then it wasn't much of a sprain.

Typical Brad....

An ankle sprain means torn ligaments. I was in a cast for 4 weeks in 8th grade after being tackled in flag football and it was an major ankle sprain....Doctor told me breaking my leg would have been better.

Joe Burrow's toe injury was a grade 3 sprain.....how did that end up?

Prancing around a pumpkin patch? This isn't quite the gotcha picture you think it is. You can walk around pretty well after a couple weeks with an ankle sprain. Running, cutting, planting, throwing, getting tackled is little different.

Puka Nakua sustained a high-ankle sprain in the second quarter last week and returned in the second half. He wants to play this week but they are likely to hold him out for a week. He's considered day-to-day.

At some point you need to go out and play, and quit hiding behind your newborn at the Pumpkin Patch.

We are 22 games into McCarthy's career and he's played in two games with two touchdowns and three interceptions. The "B" word is only a few more games away.

You guys keep talking about him like he's just a rookie. He's not. We gave up on a guy that won 14 games last year because some genius thought we had something special.

The statute of limitations for excuses are definitely starting to run their course. Dude needs to be playing.

Why would you want to throw him out there before KOC thinks he is ready?

Pennix sat most of his first year.
Mahomes... sat his first year.
Jordan Love... 3 years.
probably benefited all these guys

JJM was injured all last year... that did very little for his development.
Just because he is in his 2nd year doesn't mean he has a full year of development.

I want to see him as much as anyone... but he is really young... if he needs more time, he needs more time.
More important to get it right (if that's possible)

The best ability is availability. If he doesn't get much playing time this season due to injuries we better start having a backup plan.

Well I'm with you on that...
He has played 3ish games and been injured 2x and what... missed over 20 games?

So it could be moot if he is good or not if he can't stay healthy.

But again... have to trust KOC knows what he is doing.
If he doesn't... it'll be back to the drawing board with GM/Coach/QB.

It's his second year. Even if he wasn't playing, he should have been soaking up information in preparation. The kid looked like he had never seen a football in his second start.

A grade 3 sprain is a complete tear of a ligament, characterized by severe pain, swelling, and bruising, making it difficult to bear weight. Recovery is lengthy, often taking several months and potentially requiring immobilization like a cast or even surgery if the joint remains unstable.

Try not to make yourself out to be a doctor. Joe Burrow had surgery for his injury and is still in a boot. The guy couldn't walk off the field on his own power. McCarthy played the rest of the game with no limitations. Then....POOF, a long-term ankle injury appears within six hours.

Stick to watching the game, and not evaluating it. You are a better fan than doctor or analyst.

JJ McCarthy ain't hurt people. I'm telling you, he ain't hurt.

With Jalen Carter potentially coming back this week, ain't no way O'Connell is rolling him out there against the Eagles.

Have you ever seen those head x-rays where somebody has accidentallty been shot with a nail or, ahem, a brad … and survived.

That’s my diagnosis.

A level 3 sprain to the brain is possible but, based on the constant regurgitation of the same transparent dribble … I think not. That clear but non-lucid dribble may change from one side of the mouth to the other, but it doesn’t stop nor generate any new material besides more dribble … ever.

it seems that parody has strayed from the nfl to the ncaa - has there ever been so many unranked college teams beating top 10 teams?

Is Wentz on the verge of becoming Purple Ginger Jesus II, leading the team to a 14-3 record ?

Why not ?

Beat the Eagles, and the Vikings can turn their season around.

Wentz had shown more than Darnold did as a pre-Viking.

I said a 14-3 record, but meant to say a 15-2 record, followed by some playoff success.

For fantasy football, should I start Carson Wentz at home against the Eagles, or Matthew Stafford minus Puka in London against the Jags ?

I played Wentz over Stafford, wish someone here would have talked me out of it.

But I got support from other players, and am sitting at about an 80% chance of winning this week.

Wentz was mediocre, probably even below mediocre in a game where his job was on the line.

Average or slightly above average QBing and the Vikings probably win this game.

Maybe McCarthy or Brosmer can deliver that in the near future, along with getting Van Ginkel back, and the Vikings are back in the mix.

Flores called a great game, slowing down Barkely, almost knocking him out of the game.

Hurts was contained except for a few long passes.

The problem is the Isaiah Rodgersis just slightly above average, lacks some skills with balls in the air. Flores needs a prime Stephon Gilmore to make his defense elite, along with Van Ginkel back.

KOC called a decent game, trying to overcome some of Wentz's weaknesses.

It will be nice to see what a more seasoned McCarthy or Brosmer can do in this offense.

On the game day thread you insisted the non-call on Cashman was "the key to the game. Period."

Not that you would ever waffle.

The non call on the hold on Cashman was absolutely the key to the game, momentum, and the Vikings could have overcome a ho hum. game from Wentz if that hold had been correctly called.

Not waffling one iota, I am right on all of this.
