Historically we have owned the Saints 20-10

I could give a ratts ass the Saints need a win. So do we and 30 other NFL football teams.

Their defense has given up nearly 900 yards in two games.

I say we kick them when their down.

Take out some frustration on a weak tit defense.

Oooooo, bad visual re the Grandma Ryan defense
Would love to see us frustrate and dominate that clowns defense.

Me too. We also have a score to settle via bountygate.

If memory serves, the last time we faced Rob Ryan defense was 09 spanking we delivered to Dallas

I don't put much stock into this, but for those who believe in the ability to have precognitive dreams...

I had a rather vivid dream last night which relates to the upcoming game on Sunday versus the Saints. I was unable to view the game (which will be true since I'll be traveling that day during gametime). I happened to stop by a store during the trip and happened to see the game on a TV in their electronics section. Late in the 3rd quarter, the Vikes were up 34-9 and Teddy was leading them on a drive.

So Teddy was in for garbage time work, or did he QB us to the 34-9 lead?

No idea. In the dream, I only caught a few seconds of the game. Shortly after entering the store (dept store something like a Target) and walking near the electronics section, I glanced at a TV, and saw the game was on. I noted the score, and saw Teddy was breaking the huddle. I didn't have time to stay and watch because I had something else I needed to do...exactly what that was I don't remember - that part is mostly fuzzy at this point. But I distinctly remember seeing the score and Teddy breaking the huddle very clearly.

Pamela Anderson was in my dream that night. What does that mean?

There's probably a different forum site somewhere to discuss those types of dreams.

As for mine, Teddy was shockingly in by the 3rd quarter, so that part came true. One team did score 9, but I got the score reversed, so overall, it wasn't that prophetic.

Missing Calvin Johnson would be huge.

I still believe the Lions are the most talented team in the division. Hopefully they still play like the Lions of late.

Time to see how I did this year. I've modified the original post by adding the actual final records in parentheses:
quote:

ORIGINAL: bgdavis

Predictions for 2014 NFL Season

AFC East
Patriots 13-3 (12-4)
Dolphins 7-9 (8-8)
Jets 7-9 (4-12)
Bills 5-11 (9-7)

AFC North
Bengals 9-7 (division winner on tie-breaks) (10-5-1)
Steelers 9-7 (11-5)
Ravens 8-8 (10-6)
Browns 4-12 (7-9)

AFC South
Colts 11-5 (11-5)
Titans 8-8 (2-14)
Texans 7-9 (9-7)
Jaguars 5-11 (3-13)

AFC West
Broncos 11-5 (12-4)
Chargers 8-8 (9-7)
Chiefs 7-9 (9-7)
Raiders 4-12 (3-13)

NFC East
Eagles 10-6 (10-6)
Giants 7-9 (6-10)
Redskins 7-9 (4-12)
Cowboys 6-10 (12-4)

NFC North
Packers 10-6 (12-4)
Bears 9-7 (5-11)
Vikings 8-8 (7-9)
Lions 6-10 (11-5)

NFC South
Saints 13-3 (7-9)
Panthers 9-7 (7-8-1)
Falcons 7-9 (6-10)
Bucs 6-10 (2-14)

NFC West
Seahawks 14-2 (12-4)
Cardinals 11-5 (11-5)
49ers 7-9 (8-8)
Rams 3-13 (6-10)

(playoff predictions removed)

I got 5 of the 8 division winners right (Pats, Colts, Broncos, Packers, Seahawks).
NO was a big miss, but I doubt anyone would have predicted the mess that the NFC South would be this year. Record-wise I wasn't that far off on the Panthers or Falcons final W/L totals.
The AFC North always seems like a tight race, and this year was no different. I predicted a tight finish between the Bengals, Steelers and Ravens, and that's essentially what we got. However, as a whole this division put up more wins overall than I was expecting, and they ended up putting 3 teams into the playoffs as a result.
The NFC East was also a surprise to me. Until this year, the Cowboys just seems to be destined to collapse year after year, but they finally put things together. I correctly picked the Eagles going 10-6, but I blew it on the Cowboy record. Most years a 10-6 gets into the playoffs, but the strength of the NFC records meant it was an 11-5 and up only group this year.
I correctly picked the 49'ers failing to reach the playoffs, finishing 2nd behind the Cardinals. Rams were stronger than I expected, but they still ended up at the bottom of their division.
In the NFC North, I blew the Detroit call. I really had low expectations for that club under Caldwell, but he seems to have them on the right track for a change and avoided a late season collapse to reach the playoffs. I was hoping they could beat the Packers, but they just aren't there yet. I think they'll be a one and done team in the playoffs.

Final Prediction

NFC

East
Philadelphia 10-6
Dallas 8-8
NYG 7-9
Washington 7-9

North
Green Bay 11-5
Minnesota 9-7
Chicago 8-8
Detroit 7-9

South
New Orleans 12-4
Atlanta 8-8
Tampa 7-9
Carolina 6-10

West
San Francisco 11-5
SF 10-6
Arizona 8-8
Saint Louis 5-11

AFC

East
New England 12-4
Miami 8-8
Jets 6-10
Buffalo 3-13

North
Pittsburgh 10-6
Cincinnati 10-6
Baltimore 7-9
Cleveland 6-10

South
Houston 10-6
Indianapolis 9-7
Tennessee 6-10
Jacksonville 5-11

West
Denver 13-3
San Diego 9-7
Kansas City 7-9
Oakland 3-13

I hit the obvious division champs, think everyone had NO, their collapse and inexplicable struggles at home were the biggest surprise this season. They destroyed the Packers and Steelers on the road but were terrible outside of that. I figured Stafford would be underwhelming again but their D carried them to 11-5. Thought the Texans could catch the Colts especially since they had a joke of a schedule but they fell just short. The Bills exceeded expectations but I thought Manuel would be starting and they were quite poor with him and I thought that would doom them much like the Rams looked with Austin Davis. Really don't remember who I had Seattle or SF I remember being torn and had an obvious typo in there. I remember thinking the Seahawks would struggle offensively for consistency and their D would regress but they're back to last season's level.

The predictions were a little on the safe side but there are always terrible 3-13 and 2-14 type teams.

I don't have Jaelen Strong as THE top guy but Mike Mayock has 7 ahead of him!!!

Gonna put this here for future reference.

Mike Mayock's top 8 receivers 2015:

Kevin White
Amari Cooper
DeVante Parker
Breshad Perriman
Nelson Agholor
Dorial Green-Beckham
Phillip Dorsett
Jaelen Strong

We'll just see how Mr watches everything and has all the tape compares to youtube scout me.

I say Strong is 2nd or 3rd best out of this group a few years from now...

Edit: he was the 11th WR taken.

Devin Smith
Devin Funchess
Tyler Lockett

also went ahead of him.

In the KFan Draft Nasty contest I picked Strong to go 20th in the Philly hole. Jaelen Strong will not make it out of the first round! I have Perriman going 16 and Strong is my 5th receiver picked.

Rating someone for the draft is not exactly a prediction of how they will do on the first season. Sometimes a player is viewed to be a prospect with a "high upside" after development. That being said, I liked Jalen Strong a lot coming out of the draft and I was surprised to see him fall.
