IF the game could boil down to the line of scrimmage, I think the Vikes could win both and dominate the game. I think the Packers know that, and will instead try going deep a lot to attempt to make it a shootout, and take advantage of their WRs. The Vikes will LOSE if the game boils down to a shoot out of deep balls between Rodgers and Favre. Despite having poor OLs at pass blocking, I expect both Favre and Rodgers to play well for the 1st 3 and 1/2 quarters. Rodgers is still living in Favre's shadow, and I expect him to play well, unless he's saving it for the game at Lambau. I think the Packers will blitz HEAVILY on defense, and attempt to throw lots of deep balls on offense. The Packers might have trouble connecting on deep balls, but will probably get a PI or 2 called, whether deserved or not. The Vikes will get a makeup PI call on a deep pass, that will lead to a Vikings' score. I think Peterson will break a long TD in the 1st half, but will be shut down at crunch tim in the 2nd half. The game will probably again boil down to drive led by Favre, because I think the Packers will get ahead late in the game, with a TD to TE Jermichael Finley. IF this happens I think: *1) The Packer 2ndary does NOT fear Favre burning them deep, they jump a route, probably Dirty Al Harris, who takes it to the house to seal a Packer win. 2) Gregg Lewis will get excited about the prospect of once again being the hero. On a play where last year at Lambau and the year before in Minnesota, at crunchtime, Bobby Wade was clearly interfered with after 5 yards but drew NO flag, Lewis will either draw a flag, or MORE likely, he will burn his man and Favre will hit him with about a 20-30 yard pass that Lewis takes to the house. 3) Favre gets knocked out of the game before halftime, but comes back into the game late in the 4th quarter, with anger and determination to beat his former team, fires a 55 yard TD strike to Percy Harvin. I think there is about a 40% chance for *1), 20% chance for 2), a 10% chance for 3), and about 30% something like either a blocked FG that wins it for Minnesota, a TD pass that Longwell throws, or a TD pass that Harvin throws wins the game. Although I like the idea of Harvin throwing the game winner, I think in a close game, #1 is the MOST likely, so I'm predicting the game ends with Favre being the goat and throwing an INT to a GB player (or maybe Kampmann knocking the ball loose), UNLESS Favre is knocked out of the game earlier, then you get #3.
