It's NOT what I believe BIGO, it's what the media storyline will no doubt be.

What I wanted to say before the game, that I think is true, but sounds even MORE ridiculous is this:

The Vikes and Packers both have bad head coaches, neither of which will EVER win a Super Bowl. The LOSER of this game is actually better off, because they are more likely to fire their HC (assuming the GM is smart enough to do so).

I don't think putting TJACK in there really is a good idea, because like '99, Jeff Goerge saved Denny Green's job, and TJack could well save Chili's job. The problem is, your then still stuck with the Chili, and you're likely to lose in the playoffs, mainly because of him.

I think with a good head coach the Vikings are a SB team right now, and I think they could go with TJACK next year (or a decent FA QB), with a good head coach and win it all. I think they could win it all with LESS talent than they have right now.

But having said that, I think next week going on the road with a talented team but poor HC, going against a good HC who wants to prove a point (that he can get by without superstud WR), the Vikes will probably lose by a good margin next week.

I think Rodgers will play the game of his life, and the Packers will edge the Vikes. I really do think the Pack are outmanned in this, and it WILL take quite a game by Rodgers for them to win it, but I think the Vikes will help by self destructing. I think Rodgers will pick up several key 3rd downs by RUNNING the ball.

Packers 27 Vikes 24

I think I was pretty close on that assessment, and I only missed the final score by ONE point !!!

I do NOT think the Vikes will beat the Patriots. Bellicheat will be intent on proving he was right about trading Randy, the game is important to him.

IF TJACK starts, I think TJACK could have a 1st half like Favre did near the end of the Jets game. But I think NE will also score plenty as Frazier usually gives up points early as he tries to diagnose how much he will need to blitz this weeks' team. I expect BB will do screens away from Winfield, and I also think he'll try to get his TEs going over the top.

I also think that looking at the pass rush the Vikes are currently generating, it will be likely to pay dividends going deep to Branch a few times, and it probably will. I think BB will worry about Moss, but I think he'll try to have one CB go man and try to do as the Jets did, and just hope Moss isn't targeted, and is continued to be used as a decoy. TJACK throwing to Berrian will be something BB won't have on film, so that COULD be successful in the 1st half, IF Berrian gets interested and actually holds onto some passes.

TJACK mobility will give the Pats some headaches, but I think they'll adjust at halftime, and at least contain his running on 3rd down.

If TJACK starts:

Vikes 27
Patriots 38

IF Favre starts:

Vikes 27
Patriots 38

IF either QB goes into NE and pulls an upset, the sky is the limit for the Vikes, and they could run the table in the regular season.

I think the Vikes give up TDs early because Frazier likes to play bend but don't break early on, with no blitzing. I think he's trying to get a feel for how the Vikes DL does on pass rush, to then decide from about the 2nd quarter on how much he feels he needs to blitz, and where to send the blitzers, and on what downs.

Brady and co. carved up Tomlin when he was with the Vikes by not running the ball and just overwhelming them with WRs everywhere. I think the Pats will do quick passes, and screens away from Winfield's side. I also think the Pats WILL go deep once they figure out a good down to guess where the Vikes are unlikely to blitz. Bellicheat will probably figure out from film that Frazier doesn't generally blitz much at all early on, so I think you'll see deep TD to Branch in the 1st quarter.

I think the Pats will get one defensive TD in the 1st half.

I probably have the score too high for NE. Frazier has done a good job of keeping the Vikes games, I just think this is the best offense the Vikes have faced on the road all year, and NE only got 23 points the past 2 weeks, so I think they'll probably go over 30 this week. I think NE will do some of the same things GB did (GB found some weaknesses), but just execute those things better than GB.

I picked Pats 38-27 earlier in the week, but now I'm getting a vibe that it could be the same score, just the VIKES winning !

I don't know if it's delusional, or if the Vikes are to explode for 38 points. Or are they going to IMPLODE while NE scores 38 points ?

I MIGHT change my mind before game time, but for now I'm sticking with logic, which says a somewhat comfortable win for NE.

The Vikes are going to either EXPLODE or IMPLODE, and I think they will EXplode this week !!!

Even in the Jets season with Favre, before it crumbled, he won 2 big road games (at NE and Ten) with pretty strong play. He will have to play well for the Vikes to win this one, and I think he will. With the Pack, Brett usually came back from really bad performances, with some pretty good ones.

The great players will cover up their poor HC and OC for this week, and they will fire on all cylindars. Earlier in the week, I think I had the score right, just the WRONG team winning it. The Vikes are going to get the lead, and never take their foot of the pedal. Late in the game, they will run Peterson and Gerhart, and they'll run the clock out.

Maybe my Right brain is delusional, but I think it's right on this one:

That's my gut too. Just a feeling that we put it all together this game. It's really mostly a question of cleaning up the TOs.

It's not gametime yet. Sybil says, the Vikes will LOSE 38-27.

Left Brain is correct, there'll be no big surprise - IMplosion is more likely than an EXplosion. The Vikes are going on the road to lose another one, against a good HC.

I'm NOT trying to predict everything, and say I was right. I'm TRYING to catch a vibe and get the RIGHT team AND nail the score.

The prediction I go with is the one I make closest to gametime (always BEFORE gametime). I was ONE point away last week, and had the CORRECT team winning (never changed my mind on that one). I would like to get it EXACTLY right this week.

I would be happy if one of YOU guys or gals could nail the score, go ahead and post your predictions, with a little explanation, or some things that you think will occur. That's what this thread is about, have a little fun with it.

Don't just let me be the ONLY one predicting a score, and then rip me before and after the game. Go out on a limb, and predict what YOU are feeling.

I don't even know who's going to start at QB, so I have no idea how the team will do or what the score will be. The Patriots are a good team and at home, so I don't have the greatest feeling of confidence.

Thanks, Prescott. I hope were both WRONG, unless it leads to Childress getting fired.

I was just looking at my predictions before the season started, and what I said immediately after the loss to the Saints in game 1 :

" I should have stayed with my original prediction which had them LOSE at the Jets, BEAT the Cowboys, then LOSE at the Packers. That's puts the team at 9-7, and that's where I think they'll finish. "

I don't know if the Vikes will get to 9-7 because I also had them beating Miami, but hopefully the addition of Moss leads to (AT LEAST) 1 more win. But Packers at 10-6, and Bears at 9-7 COULD be right on if the Bears falter a little. My AFC is lining up pretty close to where teams are now, but my NFC looks HORRIBLE. I was correct in having Washington do well, but I over estimated the Cowboys and 49ers, and Seattle and Tampa Bay look like surprises.

Well I rarely make predictions and while it's true I don't have balls,

, that really isn't the reason.

I have never understood the whole point. Why would anyone care what I or you or Prescott or Joe Schmoe predict a score will be in a game? When a game is really lopsided, we're all pretty much on the same page regarding the outcome - so big deal.

If a game is really uncertain, then it's just a guess anyway. It may be an educated guess, but it's still just someone's guess.

I just don't find that very interesting - "what is YOUR guess as to the outcome of the game?"

And even less interesting is a follow up in which someone points out that they were close.

Meh {shrug}. Anyway - that's why I don't make predictions.

I just think it's kind of fun, Lynn.

I think it would be cool if someone predicted something improbable and it came true. I also think it's cool if someone can nail the score.

IF you show to be GOOD at predicting outcomes, maybe you should make some money in Vegas. I don't know if I ever mentioned it here, I don't think I ever did, I don't like to brag and try to avoid talking about gambling as it upsets some people. I though it was REALLY cool, as I hit a 14 team Super Teaser in Vegas in '98, which paid $2000 on a $100 bet.

A Super Teaser is different from a regular teaser in that you get 8 to 10 points off the spread, you can go either team, but you have to be right on EVERY team you pick. IF there are A LOT of close games, which is what we're sort of seeing now with the parity, you can hit all the right teams and make a good chunk of money.

A funny part about the Super Teaser I won on, is the first one I filled out they wouldn't let me pick either Denver or Minnesota because the starting QBs were both out, John Elway and Brad Johnson. So I had to either pick 2 teams I didn't want to pick, or pick a 2 over/ unders. I ended up picking BOTH teams, I think it was Detroit and Arizona, on a Sunday night game, and just needed the game to be close. Amazingly enough, it WAS.

I ended up checking the scores on SEVERAL sports sites because I was worried they might have made a mistake with the scores, and because I couldn't believe it hit. I flew back out to Vegas to collect (didn't trust $2100 in the mail), and with $400, tried 9 more tries at winning $2000 (2 $100 Super teasers, 2 $50 teasers, and 5 $20 regular teasers). If any one of them had hit I would have had another $2000, hitting them ALL would have netted $18,000.

I ended up being one GAME away on 4 of them from hitting another $2000. One of them, a teaser, I was one PLAY away from 2 Grand. I'll never forget it, as I had Jacksonville +2 and Buffalo, with DOUG FLUTIE, drove down to the 3 yard line with 3 seconds left on the clock. Jacksonville makes the stop and I would have had $2000. Flutie does a bootleg and SCORES !!! ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR !!! I NEVER bet against Flutie again after that.

Favre starts anyway, and we finally start to make the plays and use all our weapons effectively.
The D finally gets some breaks and shuts down the good patriots offense, enough for us to eke out a 27-24 win.

(I just have a positive feeling about things going in there, kind of a "lets just finally play up to our potential" kind of game for us)
We have too many quality players to keep struggling like we are.
