Yes but Belicheck had this attitude early on, it didn't work in cleveland but it did in NE. McDainels has thee rapport of devising schemes for the highest scoring offense in NFL history, and he did quite well with Cassel as well. I think he understands what it takes, once he learns how to interact better with players and have them respect him he will be a top coach in this league. I loved it when NFL Network caught him on the sidelines following a false start by the O-line near the goal line on a Thursday night game. He had his line all sitting around him on the sideline following the drive. "We're only trying to WIN A MOTHER**CKING GAME HERE!?!?!?" lol And NFL Network didn't bleep it either. i think most off the great championship coaches have something in common...a seemingly calm, cool, austere and stoic demeanor - win or lose...i love mike tomlin's behavior during a game...he's the epitome of what a game-day head coach should be in my book.... now imagine mcdaniel's tenure with the broncos...racing up and down the sidelines in hysterics like a child desperately in need of 100mg of ritalin and a kick in the teeth...he was embarrassment to watch....
