At the end of the day, it is a business.  Joe Montana was a much better QB than Favre and he got shown the door in SF


Oh, I believe that Manning only has a couple years, at most, in a Colts uniform. But they will handle it the same way that the Niners did, not the Packers. When Luck is ready to play, they will make the switch and Manning will be done. But they won't try to blackball Manning, force him to retire, or turn him into an enemy.

Status: offline 		Prediction for the divisional round. I can see upsets here though you really ahve to factor in the bye week for the #1 and 2 seeds, which sometimes gets overlooked.

NO 27 SF 23
This will be a tough one for the Saints. But I feel their ability to put points on the board when necessary will be the difference. The 49ers defense has shown some chinks in their armor lately. The Saints running game is big for them, becuse it protects their defense while they wear out the opposition. They won't have that luxury here. But I do see Brees finding some openings and thwarting a late Alex Smith drive. The 49ers offense will play well but they won't find the end zone enough to win.

NE 34 Den 24
The Broncos could hang tough here. It would be great if this was a snow game like the tuck rule game that would seriously level the playing field. It looks to be a cold but clear night in Foxboro. I thought the Broncos played well in the first eeting but turn overs did them in. I think they will have one costly turn over that will be the difference here. The Pats will take their matchup with Gronk or Hernandez, Bailey will probably take Welker. Tebow will play well, but the loss of Decker will hurt, though I can see his TEs being a factor.

Bal 27 Hou 13
This game could be closer but with a week off and at home I expect the Ravens D to really get after Yates. The deep ball might be their however if Johnson and say another WR like Jacoby Jones can make some plays downfield they've got a chance to free up Foster and Tate. I don't trust Flacco but I think he has a good game here and hits a big play or two and they ride Rice to victory.

GB 31 NYG 24
The game of the weekend. The Giants strengths are the Packers weaknesses. An extra week to prepare and the fact Rodgers did whatever he wanted vs the Pack gives them the edge. But the Packers problems on the OLine could rear it's head vs JPP & co. The Pack did play the Giants when they were at their peak and the Giants were in a slump. To me the Packers D will be the difference they'll make some plays that will be the difference. One thing to watch for with the Packers, can they run out the clock when necessary? They couldn't do it in last seasons SB run and the D closed out the close games, we shall see this time around.

1. I have loved ones that are disabled and none of them are considered "retarded" so I don't find it offensive.
2. I am offended by political correctness. Unless the insult is leveled at you personally, you really need to grow thicker skin.

Status: offline 		Prediction for the divisional round. First round was homer week. All home teams won, not likely it will continue through the whole weekend.

NO 31 SF 13
The Saints will either expose the 9'rs defense or be shut down by them. Since I have the Saints in my office pool, I'm picking this one based on what I want, not what I believe will happen.

NE 41 DEN 12
Putting it simply, the Broncos won't find the endzone, the Patriots will have a buffet set up there by the end of the game.

BAL 17 Hou 14
The defensive struggle of the playoffs. I only give the Ravens the edge because their offense is still better than the Texans.

NYG 17 GB 10
The Giants defense will knock Rodgers around and maybe even out of the game. The last meeting between these two was scoring match, this one will be the opposite. The Giants will control the clock against the Packers pitiful defense. No turnovers and the Giant DLine will push the Packers Oline around.

 SF 27 - NO 24  For some reason I think the 49ers will have some kind of defense in place that will control Brees just enough. 

NE 41 Den 17  Tebow keeps it close in the 1st half but Brady and company deliver in the 2nd half. 

Houston 21 Bal 17  Just because

GB 31 NYG 20  Its in GB on grass and I think all the hype of the east coast bias is gonna piss Rogers off.  Woodson and company will get away with a lot in this game and keep the Giants passing attack in check.  Rogers to Jennings, Nelson, Driver and Findley will be too much for the Giants to handle.  No QB in the league reads the D and can get rid of the ball quite like Rogers.  Plus GB is healthy again.....I hate it, but GB wins.

San Francisco 49ers- 20
Saints haven't played well on the road this year and 49ers defense is good enough to contain them. Still see Brees throwing well since the weather will be nice. Smith does poorly in his first post-season game.

New England Patriots- 31
Denver Broncos- 23
Brady went 10-14 when Denver blitzed him the last time they played. He's at home this time and I don't see Tebow putting up more points than Brady.

Houston Texans- 20
Baltimore Ravens- 24
Ray Rice runs loose and their defense pressures Yates consistently. Run defense is great and will stop Foster from having a break-out game, but still enough to make it interesting.

New York Giants- 31
Green Bay Packers- 24
Giants pass rush is good enough to get to Rodgers. I see this almost like the Chiefs game. Defense contains Rodgers and Eli plays well and keeps him off the field. Bradshaw/Cruz have a big game.

Saints beat Giants
Patriots beat Ravens

Patriots beat Saints

Well that would be too easy, you would just bet Saints -3.5, NE - 13 1/2, Baltimore - 7 1/2, and NY + 7.5.

Because it would be too easy for bettors to make money, I suspect there will be 1 maybe 2 games that are messed with. Here are the results I would suspect if ALL 4 games were to be messed with:

49ers 41 Saints 38
Broncos 31 Patriots 28
Texans 31 Ravens 10
Packers 48 Giants 24

I'm going to guess they mess with 2 games, helping the Packers and Texans. I could see them ATTEMPTING to help the Broncos, but giving up if the Broncos aren't putting up enough of a fight. Or, they might help the PATRIOTS early on, so if they help the Broncos at crunchtime to pull an upset, it's not noticed as people are just thinking the officiting is evening out at the end of the game.

Status: offline 		If I were in Vegas, keeping in mind that the refs may mess with some games, I would do what is called a super teaser (assuming they still have those). A super teaser is about 10 points off the spread, but you have to get every one right. I hit a 14 team Super Teaser one time, it paid 20 to 1 odds. Actually I hit 16 out of 16, but they had taken 2 teams off the board because of injuries to the QBs (John Elway and Brad Johnson, 1998).

O a Super Teaser, I would go with: Saints +6 1/2, Denver + 23 1/2, Texans +17 1/2, Packers - 2 1/2, and the O/U on Giant Packers, OVER 43 1/2.

I'm assuming the refs will help Packers and Texans, but if not, those games might be in trouble, even with it teased up 10 points. It was tempting to go NE - 3 1/2, but 23 1/2 is probably too much to not take, assuming the refs (and God) help the Broncos a little bit. No help from either and that 23 1/2 might not hold up. I'm assuming this 5 team teaser (adding in the o/u) will WIN, but if it doesn't, my guess is that Denver not covering 23 1/2 is what will make it a losing ticket.

Hopefully that 23 1/2 holds up with Denver, that is the game I was most concerned about with the teaser.

Status: offline 		You're right, the payoff sure sucked on that 14 teamer I hit. $100 bet paid $2000. Would have had $3000 on a 16 teamer, but 2 games were off the board because of QB injuries.

I don't think Super Teasers are sucker bets AT ALL. Actually, they are quite smart because, at times, I think the refs are messing with games. Where most bettors are getting screwed and missing by just a few points (possibly because the refs are messing with the game), you're team is covering, and you're on you're way to winning. You just can't be on the wrong side of a blowout.

On the fictional Super Teaser posted here, I'm probably on the wrong side of a blowout with Denver, the smarter play was obviously NE -3. I was going back and forth on that one, and if I were in Vegas, I might have went with NE. On Super Teasers, it's usually smarter to just go with the better team, and hope the refs aren't messing with it too much.

Go ahead and lose your money trying to bet games straight up and losing on occasion as the refs are messing with it. I think it's smarter to take advantage of the Super Teasers.
