I agree with your 1's and 2's. I know you're a Duke fan (hey, nobody's perfect) and I'm definitely not, but I think they're going to house UNC tomorrow after watching both games today. Smith looked pretty damn good for not knowing if he was going to play early in the day. UNC just loses their defensive intensity for stretches and that won't fly against the Devils.

Is there really a chance Harvard could get an at-large berth? I hope so, but I can't see it happening.

And yes, there's no doubt this is the best time of the year. The older I get, I almost like Championship Week as much as the tourney. Such incredible effort these kids play with!

I don't know; I'd never count out UNC. It will hinge on Nolan/Marshall, Singler/Barnes, and foul trouble (ie officiating) for the Plumlees. Should be another great game as usual IMO. It's also basically a home game for UNC.

Harvard's got an outside shot; not likely, but a shot. Feel terrible for Amaker and his boys. 65 years is a LONG time.

Totally agree on Championship Week. I'm glued!

Kansas would still be my pick to win it all, btw. If Irving somehow plays for Duke (you never know) that would change things and they'd be my heavy favorite. But failing that, I'll stick with Kansas.

I think Ohio State is very good, but will get beat.

Syracuse and Florida will both surprise a bit I think and go far. Big men.

I'd say the only other teams besides Kansas and OSU with really great shots to win it are Duke/UNC/Texas/Pitt. I'll be relatively shocked if anyone wins it but one of those 6 teams. And honestly I'll personally be fairly surprised if even OSU wins it.

The one thing that I think separates 4 of those 6 from the other 2 is coaching. I think Mata and Barnes are a step below the other coaches of those 6.

Wow. I don't see that at all. He maybe gets away with camping in the lane for 5 seconds at a time, but he certainly doesn't get the benefit of the call like Fredette or Thompson.

I think a ton of his moves to the basket when he lowers his shoulder the opposition is in good straight-up defensive position and he gets the call. This happens a minimum of 4-5 times a game every time I see them play IMO.

Not really. I have nothing against OSU when it comes to basketball.

I'm not a Sullinger fan BECAUSE I think he (and they) are overrated because of the calls he gets.

They, and he, are very good, but I don't see him always getting those calls.

I don't get the overrated thing. He's not going to be the Player of the Year, and he wasn't even the player of his conference. He's not flashy, he's humble, he has amazing lower body strength and positions himself well, and he has a very high BB IQ. He rebounds and plays defense. Who is overrating him? And aside from your highly subjective opinion that the officials love him, what's wrong with his game?

Nothing's really wrong with his game. He's solid. I just don't think he's a superstar, like a lot of the media seems to make him out to be. He's very, very good though, certainly. One of the better players in the country.

I think Dixon is a great coach. But I think they are too guard heavy. I love what McGhee brings in terms of toughness, energy and hustle, but they are very limited inside.

Gotta say; I didn't expect that easy of a win for Duke today. Thought it would be a dogfight. Very impressive. They played with a purpose all game, and Kelly has really grown on me. Such a smart big man and uses the skills he does have well.

Duke should be a #1 seed, and I still expect them to be. I just don't see a good argument for Notre Dame over them after ND lost and Duke won their conference title.

Which is unbelievable to me. There was some serious overrating of the SEC in that selection committee.

Georgia a 10 seed? Really? And how the hell is Florida a 2 while Kentucky is a 4? That makes zero sense. Texas should have been at worst a 3.

VaTech and Colorado got royally screwed, as pretty much every analyst said last night. Ditto for St. Mary's IMO. The members that formed the committee this year should never be allowed to participate again. Just an awful, awful job on the whole this year.

And I agree with the sentiment that they should look to retired coaches (Knight, Thompson, etc.) to fill out the committee. Would be much better than the current system where it's clearly people who don't know anything.

VTech had some really bad losses. Getting swept by Virginia and BC didn't help their cause.

There's always going to be teams left out that are deserving. It's still better than the football playoff system.

Sure, but that's a pretty low bar, don't you think?

I HATE college football's system; bowl games are an absolute joke; a .500 record should not merit a "bowl" game. Anyway...

Ya, they definitely had some bad losses. But they're still a better team, with a better overall resume, than VCU or UAB, IMO. Colorado has an even bigger gripe. Both should have been in. I would have put both in over Georgia, for that matter. The SEC is highly overrated by this bracket IMO. UT should have been a 10 or worse IMO. Georgia shouldn't have been in. Florida should have been a 4 or worse. Kentucky/Vandy were about right IMO. Vandy really got a tough draw again. I think they'll get by Richmond after two tough-loss exits the last two years, but if they're matched up with Louisville next? Ouch, that could really be a blowout IMO. I'm not a big fan of Vandy's ball-handling and I think Louisville could really hurt them with their defensive pressure there. About as bad a matchup as Vandy could get IMO.
