Uh oh, Hawks. When your best scorers cannot find a way to score in the playoffs, you are in a lot of trouble. The ducks played Kane and Toews the right way, by not giving either one of them much room to create or put a shot on goal.

Btw, good call on your D issues Joe.
I was skeptical how you could ever complain about that D corps, but they are scuffling.
Very thin. Not too long ago they were soooo deep. Leddy would look good back there at this point.

No doubt, SoMn. Leddy was the lynch pin of the defense. He was young and could skate with the puck. I guess he was let go because they could not afford him, but I would take one Leddy over five Oduyas at this point. Roszival being hurt didn't help, either. He wasn't great, but he was worlds better than Rundblat.

Leddy lover here.
Spurgeon-like
Exactly why I'm hating the trade talk surrounding him here.
Leddy has made teams go no matter where he's played.
Highly underrated IMO.

Another thing I noticed: at this point in the playoffs, have you ever seen a power play unit look so disorganized? I think the ducks had more scoring chances from their pk unit than we had from our pp. That's when I said "uh oh".

Spurgeon is a good comparison. He kind of reminds me of Coffey with more defensive sense.

Thought the comments re the ducks PP were interesting
Horrible reg season numbers
Improved playoff numbers, great in fact.
Coach was asked why ... Said the stars stop focusing on individual movement and refocus on the set-up and intent.
And it's worked. Basically saying the intensity of the playoffs forces individuals to rely more on each other and their systems.
I hear your concerns, but man, Chicago is just sooo dangerous offensively. I think it will even out.
The Wild's pp had much better personnel than their results showed, IMO. We hear ya.

Damn. I NEVER thought someone would come in and go "hey Wild fans. You ever seen a power play so disorganized?" ~ another bucket list item crossed off.

Btw ....,
Stoner looked awesome Sunday
Adding more salt to the wound.
He's doing what he dies best, without being stupid like he could be here at times.
He can whine about Suter all he wants, he's playing much better hockey there.

And oh yeah, game One hero in Ny ... Dom Moore wasnt used real well here, either.

I never have stats to back me up - but didn't the Wild PP also improve in the playoffs? We didn't have a ton of PP opportunities in the playoffs, but I clearly remember a time during the season when some of us joked that the next time we get a power play we should just decline it because we were so bad.

It definitely got better right at the end of the season and into the post season, didn't it?

Yes .....

Numbers improved
Second unit was what improved the numbers, IMO.

I was thinking that coaches explanation described us as well.

I'm pulling for the Ning too. Only team left I don't want to decide they suck and quit the league. Hate all 3 other franchises.
