I'll be attending my first Gopher Basketball game on Sunday vs. Iowa. I'm looking forward to getting an inside peek at The Barn, and hopefully a decisive Gopher victory over Iowa.

Hopefully Iowa is dumb enough to play man-man defense.

About the only way MN has a chance.

At least there was some hope vs a 2-3 zone, 1-3-1? Forget it.

I'm much more optimistic knowing that we're going in with the momentum of a recent win.

Have fun Lynn
Are you inferring that it will be your first trip?
I find that hard to believe.

My favorite "Barn" memory
Loaded up our HS BB teams on a schoolbus in 1979, headed to the Cities for a 3-hour trip to see the Gophs play Mich State in their reg season finale.
Snowing heavily. headed back and started the crawl. Spent hours creeping along, getting out dozens of times to push vehicles off the road so we coudl keep going.
Finally got stuck half-way back. Shuttled us into town with snowplows. Spent the next two days in a small-town HS gym that Franklin, Mn graciously opened up for us.
48 straight hours of dodgeball, with a couple hours of sleep on tumbling mats thrown in. One of the worst March snowstroms ever.
Mostly pissed because the plan was to get back that night and watch Herb Brooks and the Gophs win another national hockey title.

We sat in the nose-bleeds that day ... always amazed me no one ever died up there. It seemed like it was a sheer cliff up there. With a thin yellow rope for a railing.
If that building could talk ... some pretty great memories in there for many MN kids.
Decades ago, it was every kids goal to play there one day.

Yep - it will be my first time in The Barn. Keep in mind that I didn't attend the U of M, and I also didn't start getting in to college sports until about ten years ago. Also, of all of the sports, basketball is the last one I've been able to warm up to. Still don't care about the NBA, but I've gotten interested in Gopher basketball just in the past couple of years.

Good one tonight at Assembly Hall. IU is a 5.5 favorite. Tough place to play, but I think Michigan can pull off the mild upset.

All the attention on the Guards, and Zeller, but I think Horford could come up big for Michigan.

No, she implied it. You then inferred it.

Obviously nobody wants to be #1. I like it though. Can't just pencil in your Jayhawks, Tar Heels, Blue Devils or Wildcats's. Money doesn't rule all. It's a beautiful thing.

Landing a Blue Chipper is 10X easier than finding that diamond in the rough. Lots of great young basketball players. Lots of great young coaches that know they will never be able to compete with the deep pocket recruiters, but they coach up their kids and move forward.

I like that we have some really good teams in conference this year. Good prep for the NCAA if we make it. I wanna' play Michigan and Indiana every week, not Nebraska. That's how you get better.

I would like to state unequivocally for the record that Coleman sucks. How does this guy continue to start and get significant minutes?

I've lost count of stupid decisions with the ball today. Once again making too much work out of an inferior opponent.

I'll say it again ... how can Coleman go from being so effective vs MSU and Illinois ... to so sucky now?
Somethings wrong.

Coleman with poor defense results in a 3 pt play, followed by basket followed by an unforced TO with a minute left. This kid drives me f***in nuts.
