Our standard story. We get a little bit of a tease and a glimmer of hope, and then the rug is pulled out from under us.

Oh I know - we're getting the foundation set for future years, but that's the other part of our standard story. It's always next year. We'll get 'em next year.

The unfortunate thing is that we will have to wait a couple of years for the recruits to really fit the system Pitino is trying to implement.

Ultra depressed about the game last night. Crushing loss. Went from a reasonable path to the tournament to needing to do something special to make it. Yikes.

Am bummed about the whole thing, but looking fwd. Wally leaving opens up the possibility for another guy that can help.

Malik Smith was brutal on both ends of the floor.

Getting another guy who can actually box out and rebound will help.

10 point lead with 9:00 left, in a shootout game and we started taking way too long to get in the offense. Now we're flat.

I would prefer that we kept the uptempo pace.

I didn't like the slow-down pace either. Fortunately hit some freethrows, and Iowa missed a couple of open 3's.

HUGE win. Austin Hollins finally showed up.

Listened to the first half -- wow.  Absolute must win game to have any realistic shot of the tournament.  Now keep up that intensity.

Wow, just finished watching on DVR after having curling earlier. Where has that Austin Hollins been? We need him to show up in every game from here on out. Nice win for the boys, need at least 1 of the last 2 +2 in the tourney or both of the last 2 +1 in the tourney for a chance at the dance. Better than that should be a lock.

I think they might slip in with a PSU win and one tournament win....but wouldn't mind another win or two to solidify it.

When the Gophers hit their 3's they can play with anyone. Buggs came out of no where to get them back in the first half. Hopefully Austin stays hot the rest of the yr.

Buggs could be exciting next year if he can add a few more pounds.  PF could turn into a depth position if he continues to develop and the recruit-whose-name-I-always-forget can play.

I'd like to see them add that 7 footer from Africa via FLA get in her next year so we have a viable center post-Eliason/Walker.

Buggs allegedly told to add 15 pounds. Apparently is close or has, so now he plays.

Reusse was ripping on Pitino over this. "Tubby would have been crucified"

Did you see Powers' column the other day?  Man, these guys LOVE Tubby for some reason.  Powers' argument is that because they are once again a bubble team, we shouldn't be any happier with Pitino than Tubby.

Sounds like some friends of mine
Every loss? Boooooo! Bring back Tubby!

Really? Really? People were happy during the Tubby era? Really?

Can you imagine where this team would be with Tubby's version of Mo Walker?

Or even Eliason - who was huge for us early before falling off the Earth.

.500 team at best, with Dre out of position as PG (yeah, I know he can play it, but he's so much better off the ball, in my opinion), Walker still not sniffing PT because he would still be 50 pounds overweight...disaster.

EDIT: ongoing issues with Ellenson, who Tubby would be trying to keep happy for the sake of his brother; a couple other random transfers for not-fully-explicated reasons...
