Didn't get a chance.

They axed the coverage about 10 seconds after the buzzer.

Loved seeing Dad yelling at MO.

Too funny.

Peyton Siva picked a good night to get a lot of camera time.

I'm super impressed with this year.

New coach inherited a total ragtag group of kids. Bigs that don't fit his system at all. Added a tiny PG that no one wanted.

Dealt with injuries to key players. Ran line-ups put together with duct tape that never should've worked.

Had a very good year.

That was simply awesome! What a great championship game! Austin Hollins was outstanding. Very entertaining. Checking out the championship trophy presentation on ESPN3 now.

WE'RE #69!!!
WE'RE #69!!!
WE'RE #69!!!

Seriously though if the NIT is the tournament you're in, then win the NIT. Really happy that Austin gets sent off with a win. Good job by Richard this year. I can't to see how it goes next year when the players that fit his system start to trickle in.

Agree guys.
The team I'm associated with is in a really crappy conference.
We have guys who poo-poo winning it.
KNow whats worse than winning a crappy game or conference or tournament?

NOT winning it.

THAT was a fun game.
NO shame beating that SMU team. They're solid.
Good boost into Pitino Year 2!

Starving
Desert
Crackers

I think that could be my new fantasy team name...

In all seriousness, I'm proud of them for winning. Hopefully they can carry the mo over to next year for a significant tourney run. Sweet 16 >>>> NIT championship.

Yes, for a dunk contest. Idiots.

The rare time we get a chance to see a Minnesota team win a championship and they cut away the coverage of the celebration and awarding of the trophy.

Apparently it switched to ESPN3, but of course our cable plan doesn't have that.

In all fairness, Lynn...I doubt there were 100 people outside of Dallas and Minneapolis watching that game.

It was still a championship game. Seems a little more important than a slam dunk contest, the basketball equivalent of shooting fish in a barrel.

I would say that this is pretty good progress.
Look forward to the new up-coming season, to see
what transpires.....and who is recruited to fill the three
seniors on this squad!

A very solid first year for Pitino, the kid can coach. Now he needs to recruit. We need to entice Minnesota's top talent to stay home and poach a few good kids from other locations. We need more size, skill and overall athleticism to really compete with the big boys.

I got a good laugh out of the shots of Rick Pitino sitting behind the Gophers bench, yelling out instructions while Rich had the team assembled during timeouts. I kept waiting for him to look up and go "will you shut-up".

Me too, almost wondering who was the real coach. It's almost like he's grooming his son to be his replacement.
