Great win, but we're still not in.  I still think we need to win it all to be in, anything short of that will be NIT time.

I bet we're on the bubble right now. If we knock off the #5 team tomorrow, I think we're in no matter what happens in the final game.

Thats what I see too ... NCAA bid comes down to this one game.
One more win, we're in. Lose, and we're not. (rightfully so, imo)

Great win. This team is learning how to close a game out. Westbrook at times has me pulling my hair out and then when he drives to the hoop late like he did just puts a big grin on my face.

Johnson picked up 2 fouls when Morgan threw his body back into him. I don't understand that call. Then at the end of OT Hoffarber gets a rebound and 2 players are whacking away at him and no foul called. If you're going to allow one team to play physical then you need to do it both ways

It also depends on how the other bubble teams do it their tournaments

It was a very physical game.  The refs for the most part were allowing a lot of stuff.  But you're right it was very inconsistent.

I was impressed with Iverson at the Iowa game and he continued that play against MSU.  He has definitely stepped up his game in the second half of this season and is becoming a presence.  Sampson on the other hand showed a little progress this year but still is far too hesitant, too inconsistent, not assertive at all.  Iverson is way ahead of Sampson right now.

They're starting to get there. But man, we need a player that we can just hand the ball to and know he has a chance to score late.

5 points over the final 8:22 of regulation, and I'm not sure we took more than 3 good shots over that span. You should never pound the ball for 32 seconds and then make a desperation heave in the direction of the basket - yet that seems to be our 'prevent offense'.

But isn't that a coaches decision to use clock? Joseph is doing better in creating his shot late whether it is driving or pull up jump shot

It is a coach's decision to use clock, but its also his responsibility (and the players) to try to get a good good shot off.

Joseph had at least 3 or 4 shots over the final 8 minutes that didn't have a prayer of going in. We might as well have taken the shot clock violation. That's inexcusable when you are trying to protect a lead.

Gophers lead Purdue 24-4 with 6:00 left in the 1st half. However, I have no doubt it WILL be a close game at some point. The life of a Minnesota sports fan.

Purdue might end the 1st half with 8 points. Usually you can only find that kind of ineptitude from an outmatched high school girls team.

What fun to watch. It's 34 - 9 as I type this and the Gophers are getting just about every rebound.

MN is just too big/physical for Purdue at this point. Iverson and Sampson hitting 16 footers in the circle.

Amazing run from 9-4.

A massive route could sway some voter thinking.

Purdue, on the other hand, looks like they've played 3 days in a row. Moore looks extremely slow off the dribble and Johnson was dis-interested in mixing it up inside on offense.

Iverson is a totally different player from a month ago.

I hate to be so negative........but this sets up perfectly for the greatest collapse in Gophers history. Considering what is on the line today (likely NCAA bid), it would be worse than the football team's collapse against Michigan several years ago.

That's the one thing that is gnawing at me. Don't find a way to let this get away. They start so strong, and like David pointed out last night, then pound and do squat with a lead in the 2nd half.

I can't see how they could keep us out with a win today. Knocking off the #6 and #11 teams (and the 2 and 3 seed in the tourney).

WAY too big for them. And I love that Tubby didn't try to counter their 4 guard line-up by going small - instead he went way big. I'm not sure we've seen Iverson and Sampson play together this much in a long time.

Ifs and buts...

IF they'd not let a couple of games get away from them early, and played better against crap teams like Portland and Michigan.

IF they'd have won some of those early, this is, IMO, how they could have played all year.

Maybe it took a lot of soul-searching to figure out they had to get the ball inside more, and then work their way back out. Basic basketball stuff. Maybe they were 'styling' too much earlier in the year.

Crazy.
