The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for much of Illinois until 10:24 PM CST, due to all the Illinois fans cryin about their beloved Illini not making the NCAA tournament.

And the sports media loves to give the whiners a platform. Must make it a tournament of 96. What a joke.

Just think, if college football had a playoff or tournament system, there would actually be more teams (that didn't make it) whining about that too.

NCAA BB favors the power conferences. It's simple, just win the games you should and you already have an advantage over everybody else.

I forgot who said it, but if you're complaining about not being the last at-large team to make the tournament, you ain't no champion anyway. Overall, it's hard to get too pissed at an outsider about not making a field of 64.

There will still be whiners if you have 96 teams or 196 teams.  The bubble will still exist.  It will just be a bigger bubble with more teams just on the edge of it wondering why they're not in.

Same as all-star teams.  They always talk about expanding rosters so players don't feel slighted.  Players on the fringe will still feel slighted.  "Hey I batted .250 and had 4 home runs.  That guy hit .247 and has 3 home runs.  Why is he an all star instead of me?"

Better RPI, better record, beat them in their building and made it to the conference championship.  They better not be complaining that the Gophers got it and they didn't.  It's a no brainer.

I say reduce the field to 64. Why even give legitamacy to the play in game as a real tourney game. Nobody outside of the teams participating consider it as the beginning of the tourney.

Well, an 11 has beaten a 6.  Old Domionion beat Notre Dame today.  Can history repeat tomorrow?  I don't think it would even be considered an upset if the Gophers won though.  Should be pretty even.  I think I heard the Gophers are even favored by a point or two.

I'll be upset if we lose to Xavier.
Best draw we could have gotten.
Close to home, a team with a style we can beat, all should add up to a victory.

Sportline.com says Tubby "could be" headed to Auburn:

http://dennis-dodd.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/6270202/20528708?tag=comBlogEntryListCnt;entry20528708

Auburn is "close to hiring" Tubby Smith as its new basketball coach, a source that I trust told me Thursday night.

It could be nothing, but it is known that the school might be looking for an African-American coach. And Tubby getting back to the SEC would make sense. It's not the pressure cooker of Kentucky. It's a new building and a lot of rebuilding with the Tigers.

Tubby should be insulted if they're talking about hiring him because of the color of his skin. If that's true - I hope he moons them as he gives them a big "no."

Now Iverson and Sampson are swatting down and changing every X shot. Gophers up 17-15.

Let's stick with the Twin Towers look -- it really seems to open stuff up around the rest of the court.

Man, Ralph looks like a complete pansy right now. I don't know if we can survive a "bad Ralph" game today.

Ralph Sampson needs to be taken out of the game. He's a liability out there right now.

Gophs are now being schooled on Guard play, and outside shooting. 2 of their weaknesses this year.

Officiating is interesting.S ometimes they can almost knock each other over , other times a hand check is a foul.

It sure looks like Crawford is getting an extra step going to the hoop. dribble, huge hop, 2 baby steps, layup.

And another touch foul.
And Crawford killing gophs...down 8

down 8 again, quick 3, shooting themselves out of the game.

Hoffarber can't hit squat right now.

Too much perimeter bricking.
