Absolutely nothing can go right for this team. So many opportunities to get this team back on the national map over the last 2+ years, and each have fizzled out in excruciating fashion.

Brutal luck. Just brutal. Totally depressing.

WOW! I didn't hear that Mbakwe got hurt last night.

Will have to read up on the latest. If he's out for the year, I doubt they win another game.

They'll still win most of the rest of their non-conference games (the next two are the toughest, so keep some perspective) and mostly beat (maybe a road loss or something) Penn State, Iowa, Nebraska, and Indiana. Who knows.

I don't think they'll win a Big 10 road game. Maybe 2-3 Big 10 home wins.

I do know they aren't worth watching anymore.

Will Walker be able to help?

Iverson would have gotten a lot of PT now

Tubby was saying yesterday that Walker hasn't done anything basketball related since last Decemeber...doesn't sound like there's a timetable yet for his return.

Wow, wow, wow. What a disaster.

We need to track down and nab the person who is holding a voodoo doll in the shape of Minnesota. Take away those pins he keeps sticking in us and tear up his cheesehead.

Guess the redshirt frosh is about to get a serious baptism. Ouch.

Come on Ralphie, time to man up.

Mbakwe done, Gophs done.

Can't believe Iversone left. Could have patched a season together if he had stayed. Now ... nope.

Good point, Ed ...   God Forbid Ralphie should be counted on for some consistency and production ....

Colton was not going to stay. Privately, Tubby just shakes his head at Colton's off-the-court antics (who'da thunk it?), and I'm pretty confident that both he and his roommate (think the Canadian loser) both liked the mary-jane way too much for their own good. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

This team needs Ralph to man up on the low block and Rodney to start taking 12-15 shots a game. But for whatever reason, Tubby's offense doesn't seem to breed confidence in many guys.

Love inside info ... had no idea, Pete.
Makes sense.
Its not fun, trying to coach kids with that issue. I know, unfortunately. Harmless? I beg ta differ.

Cause and effect.

People who smoke pot are difficult to coach, or people who are difficult to coach often smoke pot? I'm not a smoker myself, but I'm fairly confident that anyone can have a few tokes and then go to work the next morning (whatever work may be) and be plenty productive.

With Mo, Mbawke, Williams, and White we would have had the best front line in the Big Ten....coincidentally we may have the worst now....:(

Here's to Mo getting healthy and a quick recovery for Mbawke.....

If they move Rodney to the 4, he might make some strides in rebounding with his hops

And that's wher Rodney needs make his mark. Rebounding and defense. He is way to inconsistent to be a featured scorer.

That's probably less the issue than one, he could have been caught in drug testing, which would have hurt the team, and two, if his disinterest in the team was so high (no pun intended) that he wasn't giving it all on the court or in practice (and that could be any distraction, not just smoking pot), you could see where a coach would be done with him.

I have no inside info on this whatsoever, but it would not shock me that for whatever reason, Iverson and Tubby weren't on the same page.

I'm not saying that it's not stupid. Just saying that marijuana in and of itself is really not harmful if used responsibly and certainly is not a direct precursor to an unproductive life or career.

Won by 22, and it wasn't even that close. Ohio State has a great starting five, but they don't appear to be very deep. I think they are going to miss Lauderdale's defense and size. They are not a big team.
If Thomas has more games like he did last night, they are as good as anybody.

NW and Purdue looked good last night too.

Gophs win. Eliason showed me a lot. Like his smart play in the post. Welch needs to go to the bucket more and draw fouls.

Still a horrible zone defense team, but hey, it's a win.

The woe is me stuff is so defeating. Of course it hurts when it happens to your team, but it happens to many teams every single season. Often times it's a blessing in disguise.

We weren't going to be great with Mbakwe, and the world isn't going to end because we don't have him. Tubby has to coach a little better and the rest of the roster has to step up their game.

Great opportunity for coach and players to show who they are. It's not golf.
