Gophers down 4-0 in the bottom of the fourth. Everybody's favorite college pitcher Luke Heimlich mowing the Gophers down with ease for the most part. Rain has been falling all game. Maybe a long rain delay would help our side.

I think it's safe to say this one is over. Beavers up 6-0 and still batting in the 4th. This OSU team is simply dominant. I won't be surprised at all if they win the whole thing.
Go Gophers. Prove me wrong.

Not much consolation to me. Right now he is the ENEMY.

Through 4 Games OSU has outscored the opposition 43-5. I was getting optimistic about somehow winning the game today and that pretty much shut down that optimism. They are simply TOO GOOD!!!

WOW Gophers staying in this one. Mezzenga drives in McDermott with two out in the 3rd tying the game at 1. Mezzenga thrown out at second when he tries to extend after the cutoff man throws to the plate. He was out by a mile.

Gophers get the first two runners on in the bottom of the fourth. They do what Anderson does every time and bunted them over to 2nd and 3rd. It's just what it is. Hope it works out OK. Next player gets hit by pitch just like the player before the bunt. The pitcher is getting wild and we are giving him free outs.

Boxwell strikes out with the bases loaded. We got one more chance at this.

Pitcher walks Kozicky and the Gophers take a 2-1 lead. First time that Oregon State has trailed in the Post Season. Now it's raining hard and play continues.

OSU gets the leadoff hitter on and bunts him over. Fredrickson fumbles the ball and it is questionable if he could have got the runner had he fielded it clean. OSU with runners on first and second no out. Fredrickson gets a K, but gives up a single to tie the game.
Gophers get out of the inning by retiring two consecutive first round draft picks for OSU. OSU will lead off the next inning with another first round pick.

Gophers lead off the fifth with a hit. Here comes the bunt from Mazzenga one of our best hitters. Mazzenga gets the bunt down and was probably safe. At least that is what the announcers thought on replay, but he was called out anyway. Vavra pops up, but the next batter walks and the next gets an RBI single. Gophers take the lead again.

I'm trying. Don't know if anybody else is watching. Meyers relieves Fredrickson and blows OSU..... away. Sorry I couldn't resist the Stallone/Bullock bit from Demolition Man.

One thing I have learned about the Gophers is assuming freshman pitchers Fredrickson and Meyers stick around the gophers will have a chance to be good for a while.

OSU gets a two out baserunner on a swinging bunt. It was pathetic. Hopefully it doesn't get Meyers off his game. Meyers pops up the next hitter and the Gophers lead going into the bottom of the 7th.

Gophers with runners on First and Second Coffey at the plate. He rips one down the right field line an inch foul. So close to some insurance. Coffey strikes out on a 3-2 pitch. On to the 8th. Tension is so thick you can see it. Meyers our regular closer coming out for a third inning again and facing the OSU murderers row of three first round draft picks. We probably won't have him tomorrow.
For those who care Twins first round pick Larnach has 4 at bats and hasn't gotten out yet. Larnach moved to second on a seeing eye single by the other big RBI man on OSU. One out runners on first and second clinging to a one run lead. OSU hitter just misses a three run homer foul and strikes out on the next pitch. Line single ties the game with two outs. Crap. If we can get out of the inning still tied we are the home team and have the extra batting turn. Meyers gets the K on a 3-2 pitch. Time to score some runs.

Gophers first two hitters K with Boxwell just watching a pitch down the middle of the plate. Gophers get a baserunner with a two out seeing eye slow roller over second base. Bring him home. HARD contact fly out to deep Centerfield. At first I thought it was gone. 9th inning.

Meyers comes out for another inning. Gets ripped by the first batter but right to our CF. Next batter reverses the luck with a swinging bunt single. Next batter bloop singles. 2 on one out for OSU superstar Madrigal. 3-0 laying off three really tough pitches and walks. Bases loaded one out for the Twins first round pick Larnach. Meyers is gassed and needs to come out and he is. He threw 81 pitches and should have never came out for this inning. Anderson went to the well one inning too many.
Jackson Rose needs to get the two huge RBI guys for OSU or we will be down one or more runs in the bottom of the ninth. How about a fly out throw him out at the plate double play.

Jackson Ks Larnach on three pitches!!!!!!!!!!
One more out come on. Couldn't get it. 1-2 pitch hit hard up the middle scoring two runs. The guy now has 70 RBIs on the season. Hit's the next batter bases loaded. Already a two run deficit. One more hit and it is over. He hits the next batter. 3 Runs down. Chances of a comeback almost non existent. It was a good game and great season.
Strikes out the final hitter on a 3-2 pitch. Gophers need three or more. Do you believe in Miracles?..... Nope it's over.

Thanks. I tried to write them for those who couldn't watch and give them a feel of being there. As for being an excellent fan I'm a fair weather fan. Only started following during the big 10 and NCAA playoffs. Their is some good pitching going forward. We have a shot to be good for a while.

I thought you would be more of a St Cloud State baseball fan. The Huskies pulled off one of the most famous trick plays in the history of NCAA baseball:

Just because I went to SCSU doesn't mean I'm a fan of all their sports. We only play divination one in hockey. I follow the wrestling team sometimes and they are very good.

Did you enjoy watching the trick play?

If you need me to explain what happened, I can certainly do so.
