We end up settling for a weekend split, which is usually what happens when the Gophers travel to Grand Forks.
I only caught about the last 5 minutes of the game last night so the final score of 2-1 was already there and we just couldn't muster much of an attack from what I saw.
Oh well, move on and keep trying to improve and this team will be right up there at the end of the season.

We got swept at home by Bucky Badger!
Lost 3 in a row now and just don't look to have much energy or drive....got beat to every lose puck it seems.
Good thing it's early in the season and we have time to recover, and no longer have to worry about any national rankings....

Nice win against UMD tonight. We could use a sweep to get that bad badger taste out of our mouths.

A great bounce back game last night where they controlled the play the entire game. UMD only manage about 5 or 6 shots through the final 2 periods and the Gophers just kept on them for a full 60 minutes for a change. Agree that we need another good game tonight and the sweep to get things rolling a little before heading to Michigan next week.

Sounds like the Gophers had a nice comeback win in Michigan last night to get a badly needed win. Of course, it was only viewable on B10+ streaming service for a fee, so most of us didn't see the game. I suspect it will end up being another split, but would love it if they could get another win on the road tonight.

Snuggerude is so damn talented. Can’t believe he’s going to be a Blue at some point 🤬

I take that back, after those blunders early, Closer won that game for them. Snuggerud and his mates like to dangle and get cute way too much for my taste. There must have a dozen good chance we gave the Buckeyes because we tried to get cute with the puck instead of making the simple play and clearing the zone. Oh well, at least they held on to get the win, giving them the chance for a road sweep.

Held on for dear life. Gophers were absolutely brutal at faceoffs and that them back on their heels all night.

They looked completely uninterested tonight. A good time for a break for the boys. I see this team going nowhere this spring unless they clean it up and get it in gear when they return from break.

Watching the IIHF World Juniors this morning with the US vs Swiss. Snuggerud has a hat trick in the 1st period and the period ended up 5-1 US.

Yeah, he's going to haunt the Wild for years with his shot.
By the way, the US is up 9-1 now with 4 minutes left in the 2nd.....total beat down.

The Gophers are the only entrant from MN in the NCAA tourney this year and got past Omaha last night to move on in the regionals.
They need to beat a very good BU team on Saturday to punch their ticket to the Frozen Four at the X. Go Gophers!!

I didn't get to see them much this year because coverage where I live sucks (for hockey in general). I watched that game. Either they're not that good or Omaha is pretty good. That was a very close game.

From what I understand Omaha had been on a heater the last 2 months of the season and had beaten UND 3 times including knocking them out of the NCHC tourney. They play a hard heavy game and the Gophers have been real up and down this year. Snuggy hasn't scored in about a month so I'm hoping he can get one to start him on another heater. We will need him against BU for sure.

Yup, those 2 softies Close let in really hurt. I'm still trying to figure out what is going on with Snuggerud. He has just disappeared over the last month and there were times he looked to be laboring just to skate up and down the rink. I think Nelson played himself into a shot at a free agent try out. The Wild sure could use a big body like his raising hell in the corners and net front. Overall a pretty good season even and even though it ended on a bad note, this one doesn't hurt like last year did.

That is good news. It feels like, in all of the sports, the portal has been a place where we LOSE players most of the time, so it's nice to have this kind of news once in a while.

This color announcer on the college hockey championship drives me nuts, but I guess it was time to put Barry out to pasture. I think I understood college hockey better than ol' Barry did.

Gophers playing UMD this weekend up in Duluth and are kicking ass so far. Gophers after 1 period 23 shots 4 goals, Bulldogs 3 shots no goals.

A wild finish with the teams exchanging goals in the 3rd made the final score 7-5 Gophers.

Gophers get a 3-1 win over Penn State in a hard fought battle all night long. Penn State as always plays fast and throws pucks on net from every angle but the Gophers skill and depth usually takes over in time and it did last night.
