Not a bad start for the Beavers. A close 3-2 loss on Friday to a talented St. Cloud State team. And then a tie the next night. I think it's all about the goalie for BSU. If he's solid, they have an outside chance to win the WCHA.

I like your optimism Matt!!! We'll see, they got outshot badly on Sat. (46-21) but still snagged a tie because Walsh was great. They're picked to finish about in the middle of the league, but I'm hoping for better with all the big boys out. Mankato is the favorite of everyone picking

Let's just call it uninformed optimism in this case. But I'm gonna try to follow it more closely this season.

I didn't see any of the Gophers-Bemidji series. But the recaps indicate the Beavers were not competitive. Maybe they never did belong in the same conference as the Gophers? Is it possible Bemidji joining the WCHA was the last straw for the Gophers and Wisconsin? "Yeah, I guess we do need a Big Ten conference."

The Beavers were a good addition to the WCHA but Dave is right. This had 2 things and 2 things only:

1. CASH
2. Travel (which, indirectly, is cash)

No more trips to Alaska. I will miss the WCHA big time. It was the SEC of hockey. Just loaded top to bottom. It's gonna take a while for me get a real hatred for the B10 in hockey. I already hate the Mich boys and Wisconny but that's about it.

Matt, I didn't see Saturday but shots were 31-25 which isn't too bad. I did watch Friday's game and the Gophers pretty much skated circles around the Beavers. But, the Gophers are the #1 ranked team in the nation right now, they look pretty dang good.

BSU leads the WCHA with a 2-0 record. They beat Alabama-Huntsville 6-1 and 1-0 over the weekend. Two road wins to start the conference season - we'll take that!

Alaska = Alaska-Fairbanks

Alaska-Anchorage also is receiving votes. BTW, big win for BSU tonight!! 4-1 over MN State, perfect 3-0 in WCHA.

Tough weekend for the Beavers. Road wins in the WCHA are not going to be easy to come by. Wish they could have held on for a tie on Friday night.

BSU with a big 4-1 win over Alaska-Anchorage last night. Didn't see any of the game, but it's impressive looking at the box score. BSU outshot them 33-27. Looks like there was an empty netter. Finish the sweep today against one of the better teams in the WCHA and I'll be pretty happy.

They played well Matt, especially in the 2nd and 3rd. BSU has some young, promising players. This is the youngest team they've had in a long time.

Gotta get 2 points at home tonight too.

Those deer hunting unis the Beavers are wearing???...horrible.

If they lose this game, I blame it on the unis. No way those players can feel like legit DI hockey players wearing that stuff.

Then again, it is Bemidji....so if deer hunting unis are gonna work anywhere, it's there.

Wonder if they wore those last night.

Tie game 1-1 after the 1st period. But BSU was badly outshot 16-7. Will try to watch the 2nd period. (wife napping)

I never thought I'd reach the point where I'm trying to decide between which college hockey game to watch.

Right now, Beavers are my choice.

And just as I type this, BSU SCORES!! 3-1 lead!

Looks like a pretty exciting game in Minneapolis too. Will keep checking in. The recall button on my remote is getting a workout tonight.

Has anyone seen any NCHC play this season? It's pretty tough to find those games on TV. I see CBSSN is televising some games. Very strange situation at this point with some teams playing a lot of conference games (UND has played 8), while other teams haven't played many at all (Western Michigan has only played 3).

Edit: Western Michigan will finish its fourth conference game soon.

Wonder if drewster is at the game tonight? Love flipping between the BSU and Gophers games. Really love the Gophers are already up big so I can focus on the Beavers tonight.
