Finally figured out w hy we get along so well, Jeff
Houser was awful. Awful. Andvwestill won.
The final six on ice who got the big game tier?
Taffe Pohl Potulney Ballard Koalska Riddle
That's a big wow.
We were loaded. Hawsers the only reason any game was close.
And yes, I never spell his name right on purpose.

Good sweep. On we move.

I realize I'm super dumb, it's all good.  Yet, I'm decent when it comes to the rules of hockey.  I played for 13 years, coached for 2 and have wathced every game I can for the past 20 years.   That being said:

How the **** was the hit on Zucker (albeit, it sucked that it was Zucker) a 5 minute major and a game??

I don't care if that was Al Secord taking out Neil Broten with a smile on his face and a lift of his skirt to reveal his vagina, that was at best, a "charge".  I say "at best" because honestly, that's even a stretch.

Hugh, who knew?  I learned another thing just now.  A keeper can be outside the paint, and in fact, completely behind the net and grab the puck and it's not a delay of game if he "quickly jumps back in to the crease".

Jeff - I wondered the same thing about the hit on Zucker. Did they overreact because it took him so long to get up? The only thing that wasn't very clear in all the replays was whether Rau lifted his hands up and connected to his head. Other than that it looked clean. He didn't hit him from behind which is the big thing they are watching for right now.

I'm glad Zucker seemed to be okay though. It's scary seeing a player lie on the ice that long, although right away he was moving his arms and legs.

So frustrating that I can't get the game on TV. I see it's on some Fox Sports special channel in the high channels. But when I try to view it, it says I don't have access to that channel. I know it's a local Fox Sports channel because the game is followed by "Gopher Postgame." What a crock! At least I got to watch the Bemidji State game tonight.

It's just as well. Denver tied it up with about a minute to play in regulation.

Total domination start to finish on the Beaves.
Their goalie is fantastic, kept that one from being ugly.
We were back to looking like we had "6 guys on" all night.
Thats what it looks like when a talented team comes ready to play.
BSU has a nice team too. I think tommorrow night will be a lot tougher.

One of the last great moments in MN sports fandom. (the next year didn't top that one, but was sweet too)

Shhhhhhush yourself, Mr Shutte.
Guentzels back, and Potulney (that one NoDakker) is on the bench.
We're gold again.

Watched the whole game on Friday night. Had no idea that FSN Plus was available to me until that night. Channel 980 or something....it was worth the search to watch my 2 teams. Thought maybe Lakeland in Bemidji would carry the game, but I'm thinking they just carry the BSU home games. Not much of a budget there. I'm impressed the games are televised at all. BSU's SOG totals were embarrassing on Friday night. Didn't see any of the Saturday game (Jayhawks show at the State Theater), but I'm hoping they showed a little more life than they did the previous night. Gophers needed the wins, so I guess I'm OK with it....just wish BSU would have made them work for the wins. The Friday game felt over 20 minutes in.

Pretty good take, Matt
Not a great showing by BSU (prolly my second-favorite team most weekends)
Wait ... third .... (after whoever is playing the Sue)
But they'll be fine.
Their goalie scares the beejeezus out of every team they have to play .. he has the potential to win them any series they play.
Bodes well for the Beaves.

Me, too, on the FSN channels.
Pisses me off I'm paying probably double what I ever said I would for TV each month, but love being abe to see games whenever I want most of the time.
Sad part is, theres so damn many, you can't possibly stay ahead of it and watch them all.

Just got back from seeing me 2nd favorite college team beat my favorite 3-2.
UNO is a bit too young to compete with the Gophers.

Carefull there sir.  We are whicked young

I'm impressed with them.  Damn Blais is a good coach.   Great series all around.

Edit, I said "good coach".  Meant, "DAMN good".  One of the best.  I didn't realize how understated that was when I first wrote it.

I don't know about a bit too young? Considering the average age for their freshman is close to 21 and the average for the Gophers is around 19. What do you guys think about the checking from behind non calls against Parentau and Bjugstad? That blow to the head on Bjugstad was very similar to what got Rau a major and suspension.

I see Minnesota is very young as well.
UNO has 2 seniors . Minnesota 7

It's been speculated down here that Blais isn't retiring because of his extremely young squad.

We're extremely lucky to have him.

Had a nice discussion with some Gopher fans. Rabid fans they are. They were very impressed with our venue. It's to big though IMO. Holds about 19,000.
