Still, am I right at all in thinking they pretty much sleep-walked through the season considering they won the conference? I mean, were they truly dominant? Is the WCHA down from where it was a few years ago? It just seems so strange to me.

This Gopher team should get much better
There are a lot of decent teams now, but noones loaded, imo
Too much player turnover yearly
And down years for Colo teams and most-definitely the Sue .... but I'll take it. Tough league, no matter the circumstances.

Very well put. This is the ACC for BB and the SEC for football. Never an easy title to earn but yeap, the league overall was down. What's going to be fun to watch is how the WCHA will look in 2 years when all these Frosh and Sophs grow.

Wait, what's that? No more WCHA???

Status: offline 		I know I'm in the minority on this one, but I think the new B1G hockey conference will be good for the sport in the long run.  The U will still play NoDak/Duluth/St Cloud every season (and the Minnesota "Beanpot" should be a lot more fun than the slugs they tend to bring in for the Mariucci tourney).  I don't think anyone will miss series against the likes of Anchorage, Michigan Tech, etc. and IMO, the new rivalries with Ohio State and the Michigan schools will more than make up for what's lost by leaving the WCHA. 

Let's revisit this in about 5 years, shall we?

Status: offline 		Growing up torn between the Gophers (born here) and UMD (lived in Duluth in the 80's), I have a hard time imagining hating a college hockey team more than the canuck thugs from NoDak.

That said, I definitely have no love for Michigan either.  Watching the Dogs knock them off at the X last year for the title was pretty effing special on a few levels.

The games will be televised here this week I see. Great news.

I'm loving the new NBC Sports Network! Lots of college hockey, most of it has been east coast teams, but now they're starting to show more WCHA games. Came to their senses I guess.

The phantom trip on Lienweber, the no-call on the Rau takedown that EVERYBODY saw....just cheapens an otherwise great game
