Dandy win.
Started pounding and didn't let up.
Theres some very good talent here.
No one in college hockey wants to step up and be the best.
I'd suggest we think about it.

Kinda disturbing that Penn St has given us so much trouble this year, outside of last night.

I think I remember telling Matt this would happen this year ....
But I'm so rarely right, I never expected it to happen.

You did.

You also told me you'd enjoy the Big 10 conference. But you don't.

I must be living under a rock, because Reusse heard about the new ND nickname before I did ....

The Whioux?
Love it.

Oh ... and .. I understand a Huskie fan calling us "smug", I guess I can handle that.
NEVER better hear that from a Whioux fan, however .....

I feel bad for some of the schools losing that cash cow that was Gopher games.
I don't think there was enough fight put up about that.
That's probably the biggest loss in this whole deal.
You took an entire weekend of money-spendin away from those towns. LOTS of money. LOTS of fun.
I've always used that Yankee comparison. Take away the Yankee trips here to target and the Twins would whine like babies.
The better programs, the ones everyone loves to hate, are cash cows in their leagues.

The Gophers reclaimed No. 1 in the polls on Monday.
Notre Dame’s weekend upset of Boston College (25-5-4 overall record) cleared the way for the Gophers (23--4-5) and they took care of the rest with a sweep of Penn State.
“It closes a chapter of our home ice this year, and to go through 20 games with only one loss, it shows how well we played at home all season long,” Gophers coach Don Lucia said.
Boston College, who held the top spot for the last three weeks, drops to No. 2. Union is No. 3. St. Cloud State and Wisconsin each climbed a spot to No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.
Minnesota State climbed two spots to No. 17 and Minnesota-Duluth returned to the Top 20 at No. 19.
Up next for the Gophers is Ohio State, who has been on the verge of the Top 20 for several weeks. The Gophers' final opponent, Michigan, jumped a spot to No. 12.

Nice dominant win at Ohio State last night.
Earns us a bye for the first B10 tourney.
I wasn't even aware there was one.

Gophers win a fun one in Michigan in OT. I love watching fast up and down games like the Gophers and Michigan usually play. Nice way for them to start the Big Ten winning a championship.

Yup. Rau seems have a way of being in the right spot at the right time. It helps that he isn't afraid to go into the paint and take beating.
I wish Warning would do more of that.

FINALLY!

Never saw this quiet year for him coming.
I thought he'd step out and go big this year.
Not so far ...

Still the only program in town who consistently competes at the highest level most years.
Consistently winning their tournaments and conference titles
Consistently ranked nationally
Consistently turning out pro prospects
Thanks boys.

We get Ohio State tonight.
Had a buddy who tried to beg me to go to this tourney with him.
Talked to him last night while he was there.
He estimated maybe a thousand people attended the first night.
Big ten hockey fevah ..... Catch it!
