My take

- Was hoping we could run over them a little better, especially in the 2nd half. A bit disappointed with that. May need to change up the OL. The Olson brothers were second teamers I believe.

- our passing game was about what I thought. A ways to go. Won't be shocked if Streveler ends up the long term answer at QB.

- Maxx Williams with several crushing blocks...and TD catch. Should be real nice player for 3 more years.

- a good bet Kirkwood and Edwards won't play next week. Still should be ok however. Thought we would have seen some of Gillum.

- the stats may have been weird, but remember big play TD's took at least 2 possessions away from our offense.

- as stated, their spread offense gave us fits at times.

- I kinda like Nick Sherry. He was the main reason they did as well as they did.

- I wonder how many plays UNLV rushed for 1 yard or less? Seemed like several.

- our pass rush could have been better. I remember just one sack.

- LB's need more PT, but they should be ok. I'm putting a few of the those big runs on them.

- we need Wells when conference play starts. That kid will hit.

- we should beat up New Mexico St & Western Ill the next 2 games. San Jose State & Iowa should be close...then lets see the rest of the year.

- saw a few kids on the sideline with a jersey on who did not make the 105 man roster. One appeared to be L. Edwards???

I thought Edwards got kicked off the team. Something about stealing an iphone from the weight room.

I watched much of the game but happened to miss whatever it was that Leidner did. I came back in time to see a mega sideline congratulatory gauntlet, and I could tell by the score that he had made a touchdown - but they never showed a replay. Was there something particularly amazing about his score? I see a mention above that UNLV had trouble bringing him down, so I'm assuming he bulled his way into the endzone. Can someone fill in the gaps?

On the TD Liedner went in pretty much untouched. It was a keeper that completely fooled the defense. He had a couple other runs, but I don't remember much about them.

Good ball handling, difficult to bring down. One play took 3 guys to tackle him, he put a shoulder into 1 of them and got a couple more yards.

Ok, nitpicking here but it's getting on my nerves. TCF needs that signature band song. The one the band belts out and you know your in enemy territory. It's the home teams "thing". All really good experiences have them. Whether you hate them or love em.

Ours band just plays campy shit to get the stadium jacked up. I really can't get in to 867-5309 after a 90 yard int return

Yeah, that's what I thought too. I thought I saw Edwards in a white 32 jersey. After further review, that was probably half correct. This year #32 is Berkely Edwards. It looked like D. Foreman was there too, but maybe he was added to the roster at some point? I saw A. McDonald on the sideline, and as of this post, he is still listed on the roster.

Ummmmmmm, we're thinking going to New Mexico State will be a sure win?
They're standing toe-to-toe with Texas right now near the half.
Not so fast, my friends .....

I've got some weird ideas, I know ... but I feel better about the way our sidelines look.
By that I mean ... the athletes. And I noticed (like you did) ... some good looking ones.
The (gulp) Brewster and even Wacker years ... or sidelines were  completely devoid of good-looking athletes.
I see a big improvement in that area.  Depth, baby.

Did anyone hear the quote from Kill that said (paraphrasing) that his goal was to first get the team back to where it was with Mason and then improve from there?

Kind of a direct, and deep, dig at Brewster I'd say.

Nothing is sure anymore. Just ask Kansas St, Iowa State, So. Florida, Oregon State, etc ......... and that's just this week!

But Texas beat them by nearly 50 so we should win by 60 or 70, right? ;-)

I don't think it's that big of a dig. The results and records are out there for all to see. I think it's understood there is no love lost between Mason and Brewster. Kill is much more in line with Mason and they seem to respect each other. I wouldn't say that with Kill & Brewster.

For all of Brewster's vaunted recruiting skills, his team sure didn't look the part. Of course half of the "prized" recruits were ineligible or kicked off the team as fast as they signed.
