Nelson can run. The pounding will be his downfall.

never saw that out of him in HS
he ran, but not this successfully
Its there almost every time for him, just large gaps and open field. almost always.

Haven't watched this, but based on some of last year, and the first game, the MN QBs fake very very well.

Joe C enjoying this beat vs Twins

MT @NSandell: Up 44-14, this is the first time the #Gophers have scored 40 points or more in back-to-back games since 2005.

Enjoy the ride while it lasts, boys.

NW is rated higher than Nebraska.

Bizarre.

Feeling better
Still have plenty of warts ... but we also have a LOT more players than we've had
Athletic in spots that need athletes ... for years we simply didn't have that

The RBs tonight looked much better
Hit holes quicker
Doled out punishment
got every yard they could
I do miss that part of Mason Football

Dammit
I'd like to see us fight to keep them out of the TD here
I don't care what the score is .... this is where you separate yourself.

I could only follow the stat updates on ESPN.com, but some things had me scratching my head. It looked like the Gophers were racking up a lot of yards per play, but kept settling for FG. Once again we rack up a lot of points, but it is a bit misleading because once again the ST and the D scored 14. I would really like to see more production from the offense against these crappy teams. And I am more than a little pissed off that the D gave up 21 points.

SMF, I guess at the end the day I would rather be bitching about the quality of the wins over these cupcakes than be bitching about another upset loss to them.

Watched the game streamed on my laptop on BTN2go ( thanks for the tip Jim!)

Just a no nonsense bruising running win. Very sloppy, a lot to work on, but at least you got a sense of physical domination in this game that wasn't there against UNLV.

And Nelson could possibly be a better runner than Marquis was. wow. He's got some shiftiness in open field. How long before he's a receiver and liedner is qb? got to keep up tradition.
